geanky 0 #1 June 25, 2002 Do you have skydiving pictures posted at work? And if you do what do your coworkers say?
quade 4 #2 June 25, 2002 Without a doubt the most fun I have is when somebody looks at a 112-way photo I have at my desk and says, "Which one are you?" I have to explain to them that I took the photo.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

freeflir29 0 #5 June 25, 2002 No Doubt....I don't know why that is so hard to understand. One of the chics I work with was asking me questions the other day. I got out my camera and showed her some video. She kept asking.."Where are you?" I really was trying not to laugh to hard. Especially since she asked to see my camera helmet before hand..... hobbes4star 0 #6 June 25, 2002 the best i have heard is "isn't it hard to hold the camera to take the picture?"if fun were easy it wouldn't be worth having, right?
AiRpollUtiOn 0 #7 June 25, 2002 Actually it isn't that hard... A guy at my club has this sort of glove where he can attach his camera to. He gets great shots like this, a really good idea for tandems too, the only problem is the danger of that thing getting stuck in your lines (or pilote chute on opening."Don't make me come down there" - God. Yeah, I believe that's one of the reasons the early camera flyers decided that wrist mounts weren't that great of an idea. I can see it being used for some very specific things, but for everyday use, I think the odds are just going to catch up with you eventually.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
billvon 3,006 #9 June 25, 2002 I have a few - one big one of a 10-way launch, that I can use to show them what I look like in freefall. Two of a tandem I did with a coworker, and one of a 2-way BASE jump I did with Amy. Tried to cover all the bases.

Almost everyone I know wants to try it, yet when you offer to take them they always back out. Dumpster 0 #13 June 25, 2002 I've one pic of me on my tandem jump at Hinckly, and a bunch of photos off the internet on my screen saver- When people come to my office (which I'n not in very often-) or vendors come in it's funny to watch them flash on the screen- eventually I get the inevitable question - "do you skydive?" Easy Does It
gale 0 #14 June 25, 2002 I recently put up a bunch of signs at my job that all used skydiving as a background. I photoshoped some of my co-workers heads onto skydivers bodies in some of them. I tried to use some of the pictures from photographers on here (with their permission - thanks) but they weren't high enough resolution, I ended up using real pictures. Yes, it's a great conversation starter with the customers. My co-workers however are sick of hearing about it GaleI'm drowning...so come inside Welcome to my...dirty mind
lippy 918 #15 June 25, 2002 The wallpaper on my office PC is that Despair thing with a picture of a 12-way star that says "Idiocy-Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." tigra 0 #16 June 26, 2002 Right now I've got 2 on my desk, a 44 way and a 20 way. Yes, they get attention. There is always someone who asks how the picture was taken and just can't grasp the concept of a camera man in the air with you. But I just got a new one this weekend. Its a 20 way, and we had a second camera man on the dive. This shot shows the formation (which was nice) AND the camera man. I figure that should help explain how we get the pictures. We'll see, I still need a frame for it so I haven't brought it in yet!
base698 19 #17 June 26, 2002 I had one of me going off the New River for Bridge Day 2000. My dad put it up at work and said it got more attention than anything in his 40 years of working.
