hohonukai 0 #10 June 20, 2002 That sucks! No skydiving in Korea?!20-26 mph gusting winds, cloudy, no rain here. The usual's 10-25 mph winds and partly sunny blue skies white puffies.I must be doing my part as being part Cherokee. My ass has been sitting for most of the day and no rain here. Here's to "rain rain go away, come again...no wait...don't come back m@#"&^$*@#^!!!!" for Florida.
rgoper 0 #11 June 21, 2002 is everyone aware that 1.88 million acres of land have been destroyed by fire this year alone? for the last 8-10 years we've only lost approx. 650-700 thousand acres, some of it "control burning" by the forestry service. the fires are reaching biblical propotions. i'm concerned. but here's the "kicker" 98% of the fires are started by individuals, and 65% of those started by people throwing ciggarette butts out of the windows of their cars...........DUH? (stats courtesy of the ABC evening news) we're also behind 9.5" or annual rainfall. tie all of this together with the ingrates in the west bank/gaza strip with the personal bombs, and isreal with their tanks, where does it stop? "can't we all just get along" Rodney King" the only intelligent statement i ever heard him make, even if it was coerced. set back, take a look at the "big picture" personally, i think i'll go sky diving this weekend to forget all of this bullshit!Richard"Gravity Is My Friend"
jceman 1 #12 June 21, 2002 Quotesend the rain up here to colorado... maybe it could put out this damn fire and get the smoke outa the airWould love to -- I haven't really complained about the rain because we went through the wildfires in '98. Don't EVER want to experience that again! But I do have a severe case of ground sickness.
hohonukai 0 #13 June 21, 2002 Wow, this thread has taken a serious turn.Personally, I wasn't talking about the wild fires and everything else mentioned. I was talking about jumpable weather specifically. In regards to the current events, I can see what I posted sounding like I don't give a damn. I can assure you though, I do care. My post was in light of a skydiver's desire to be in the air when weather is not permitting that jump. Hence, the 'I joke I play' sing song feel to it.Thanks for the informative post. I will dance my ass off for rain to save the acres of land that are left. (that was a sincere statement, really, and not a joke)
Jasmin 0 #14 June 21, 2002 Come back to Oz honey, the weather's fine here and we doing lots and lots of jumping!
indyz 1 #15 June 21, 2002 The weather was great at Sky Knights today. Of course I got lost and missed getting on a load, but I learned how to pack. I'm just amazed that I managed to get lost going somewhere that I had already been to. Ended up missing a turnoff and just cruised for about 15 miles until I realized that I had no idea where the hell I was.--Brian
