skip 0 #1 June 17, 2002 I was out at spaceland on friday to drop off my first new used rig (woo hoo), and saw one attempt at the 120. That was truly amazing. How did the rest of the weekend go?.:skip
INSANEDADDY 0 #2 June 17, 2002 I was out Saturday and witnessed 4 attempts. The last attempt of the day was really close. I think they were two short. What a sight to see 130 canopys in the air. And the sound it makes when they are all opening!!!!! I though the 5 plane fly by was AWESOME!!!!!!! Spaceland rocks....
Rachill 0 #3 June 17, 2002 Big ways were awesome this weekend!!! Got to meet tons of great and awesome people.!!!! The big ways got 116 people docked.(I think was the final number) There were only 4 cut aways and no injuries!!! Casa's were awesome! Spaceland was rockin!!!! I had a blast! I'm F#$#@!#$ tired as hell now though! Just got home from the DZ (12:45am on Sunday)Man, that was so awesome to see that many people in the sky at once! What happened to Turbo? Jumperpaula 0 #4 June 18, 2002 Most amazing thing I have EVER seen. A 100+ formation in clear view, break offs, the sound of all those canopies opening at one time. Wow!! We did not break the Texas State Record, though. It still stands at 105 from Skydive Dallas. I think we might have the biggest formation over Texas though, they built a 121 way to 119. No injuries and from the feedback we received I think everyone had a great time and thought it was well organized. I'm estimating over 300 jumpers on the dropzone and maybe another 300 spectators. With all the tents, and food set up, It honestly looked like a carnival. Never seen my DZ like that before . The sight of 3 Otters and 2 Casa taking off was pretty amazing to me. Too bad we didn't break the Texas State Record, but there is always next year. Paula GO on GO, and Present
AggieDave 6 #5 June 18, 2002 Why didn't you say high, then? I was walking around all day Saturday in a DZ.com t-shirt...had a good group of DZ.commers there that day, though. Probably around 20 total, that was pretty cool. It was too bad that the record wasn't broken, but I was very very happy to see that no one was injured.AerialsSo up highWhen you free your lives (the) eternal prize
Zennie 0 #6 June 18, 2002 Yeah that was pretty much a mind-blowing event. And, like Paula said, it was pretty much a carnival atmosphere. Kudos to all the Spaceland staff for their hard work in putting on a great event. It really showed. And also kudos to Paula and the volunteers for helping pull this thing off. This really was a team effort. Hope we can get it next year. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."
