dream

Check out this dream I had the other night. All of a sudden I find myself in freefall. I am falling and falling then look at my left hand to see what altitude I am at. There is no altimeter on my hand. So I am thinking to myself that my ProTrack will go off any second. So I keep on falling but I hear nothing. All of a sudden I realize that everything is looking real fucking big. I am thinking OH SHIT, it's time to pull. So I reach back and grab the hacky. As I pull my finger slip off the hacky and my Pilot Chute is still in the BOC pouch. I reach back again, and get it out, but it is too late, and I have hit the ground. Somehow I survive the hit, though.
What can we learn from this dream. Your altimeter is only your back up. Your audible altimeter is the back up to your back up. Rely on you eyes before anything else. Learn what different altitudes look like. Always check as you are going up the altitude of the clouds (if there are any). Always be aware!

Another thing you may have learned is not to eat so many "Cheesy Poofs" right before bed.
Seriously though....I used to have horrible falling dreams.
For years I had major nightmares.
I haven't had one since my first jump over a year ago.
I do have drowning dreams now......should i start s.c.u.b.a. diving ????

I wasn't scared in the dream. It just kinda happened as it happened. I actually have many falling dreams and I enjoy them just as much as real life skydiving. It's kinda like free jump tickets. :)----------

Ooooooh this is even wierder......
I used to have nigtmares about being crushed. I mentioned them to my dad one day over a few drams of quality malt, and he admitted to having exactly the same dreams as I described......
His father, my grandfather, was killed in a mining cave-in roof collapse, when my dad was very young........
I don't like working underground......

That is really wierd NAC MAC. Maybe you were told about that, or heard somewhere about it when you were young. You didnt remember being hearing it but subconsciously your brain did.

Could be the case Pop, I don't try and figure these things out they scramble my brain, I just accept certain weird things as weird, and thats it.......Only the truly insecure require explanations for everything.......

This isn't really skydiving related but I had an interesting dream about Anna Kournikova last night. I was in Miami and I was at a fancy restaurant eating when I noticed people taking pictures near the front of the restaurant. I walked up there and she was having dinner with her family. The next dream sequence I was sitting in the restaurant floor near her table in white briefs (puzzling because I wear boxers) and shwe walked by. She looked at me and smiled and said "nice briefs". She sat down on the floor and we had a conversation about each other. We hit it off really well and then I asked her out and she said she wasn't dating. I then asked her if I could take a picture with her and she said she doesn't do that because the press would get a hold of it. She gave me a big hug and walked back to her table.
Anyone want to try diagnosing me?
:D
