The last Saturday?

As some of you know, my hours are strange. I work nights, going into work anywhere from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and staying anywhere from midnight to 2 a.m.
The hours are okay, though I don't really like them. The shitty part is the working every weekend. I'm so tired of having to leave the dropzone every Saturday and Sunday by 1 p.m. I never even get to drink beer. Sigh. I've worked weekends for a long time. The newspaper comes out every day, you see.
And while I'm grateful to be gainfully employed, criminy. Throw me a frickin' bone here.
Anyway, after lengthy negotiations with the [long string of words considered but decided against seeing that you shouldn't type anything on the Internet you don't want just anyone to be able to see] boss, and premature hopes dashed (was lied to), it finally looks like this will be my last Saturday at work for a while.
I'm ecstatic, yet cautious.
Next weekend I'll be out of town, but c'mon out to San Marcos two weeks from today; I'm parking myself there at 8 a.m. and not leaving until Sunday afternoon. I'll bring the beer.

Sounds like a good date!!! I feel your pain....I only work about 1 weekend a month but it still sucks. It's absolutely beautiful out today and I had to leave the DZ at 2 PM. I did get two jumps in though. One of them a tube jump with Brittany. So, that pretty much made my day!!! "Here I come to save the BOOBIES!"

Good for you! Sounds like something well worth negotiating, and just in time for summer!
A recent spate of work-work-work has kept me from the dz outright for the last few weeks , but I'm really hoping to make up for it soon... I s'pose not having it for so long just makes you want it that much more!

That's good news, Jess ("news" ... get it ??? tee hee...) I've been working Monday to Friday for almost a year now -- it's GREAT!!! I hope ya get in many beers on your first Saturday off!
