Vallerina 2 #1 June 10, 2002 A little over two years ago, I checked out this crazy place after joining the Purdue Skydiving Club. As the story often goes, I went for one jump, then two, then three... I immediately felt a part of the family they had going on there-George even gave me the nickname of Smiley on my first visit! Soon enough, I graduated off student status and proceeded to get absolutely smashed after doing vodka shots with Dave (who proved that I CAN hold a beer bottle in an interesting place!) But, it was them initiating Anna and me with sit-ups and taking me to Chances Are that really made me feel part of the group (chalk those up to interesting experiences!) What can I say? This place is home to me-I've had many a firsts in Frankfort (firsts: freefall, night jump, freefly, reserve ride, kiss pass, pieing, corn landing...all the newbie stuff!) I had only been there a short time and already experienced so much. I formed a cool attachment there after feeling so welcomed, and I will miss having such a place to go to.With all the bad stuff that's happened, I just hope some good can come from the mess. I feel very fortunate to have met Dave & Jan, and everyone else (even Boardley!) I wish everyone the best of luck in the future. I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind; got my paper, and I was free
iynx 0 #2 June 10, 2002 I, myself, am a newbie. I jump in Lodi, Ca. Albeit I only have 10 jumps (all of them were from student training :P), I've yet to do my first completely solo jump, etc. but all of your firsts were pretty self-explanitory except the pieing. Qu'est-ce que c'est?(En Anglais: What's that?)

freefallin14 0 #7 June 10, 2002 This is truely sad. My home dropzone of 3 years and the place where I did all my training, became an instructor at, and made some of my best friends at, is closing because of some pieces of shit, namely the people at Franfort flight service. These people have given us nothing but crap for years now, and even when we did everything their way they still found something to bitch about. I could go on and on about some of the shady stuff they did, but I am not writing this post for that. I am writing this post to thank everyone at Skydive Indiana who may happen to read this for making it such a great second home. It is really sad to think about all the times there and all the people I have met, or taught, and realize my home is going to be gone. There are 4 dz.comers that all called it home, Val, Jumppilot01, Bananna, and myself. Like Val said you immediatley felt part of the family there and could always feel like part of the group. I had so much fun there, started and continued skydiving because of the people at Skydive Indiana. I am so glad to have met my friends there, and wish Dave and Jan Geyer the very best always.Bret

skybytch 273 #9 June 10, 2002 I know how you feel... About 8 years after I started jumping the little dz I grew up at closed. Even after I'd moved away and started jumping at a big dz it was like coming home to go back there. Now my old friends are scattered at a number of dz's (or out of the sport). It's gonna be a kick ass weekend too - two days of jumping and hanging out with old friends, plus getting to be back in "my home air". PM me Seb - need to talk about aircraft costs and stuff....pull & flare, lisa"Try not. Do or do not. There is no try." - Yoda sez
