What a dunmbass!!!

Recommended Posts

Well....my Mom called me a little bit ago to read me the front page of her local paper. Seems this genius I went to High School with had an interesting day. He's a State Trooper and it seems he thought it was a great idea to leave his badge, ID, 2 Glock .40 pistols, and a .380 in his UNLOCKED patrol car overnight at his house. Seems all of it was stolen. You'd think a State Trooper may have more sense than that....no wait....I know this guy.....What a way to make the front page of the paper huh. Dumbass!!!! :D

I hate to break it to you Clay, but Georgia has never been considered one of the more intelligent states. It is definitely smarter than Mississippi and Alabama, but really not much.;)

same thing happened to my neighbour a couple of weeks ago. he's a mountie and they got his badge, a cell phone and a couple of other things (he didn't say what). they rifled through the glove box of my toyota, but there was nothing there, the beemer was locked and they left it alone.

i, being a state trooper from ky, have been susceptible to incidents of a similar nature. it is not uncommon for someone to become complacent and think, "they won 't mess with my car", but it appears your friend got caught with his pants down. to say that he is a dumbass, that may be a little harsh. to say that he got complacent and lazy, that may be a little more accurate. by the way, i bet he had a hard time explaining to his superiors why all of his gear is in his car unattended. if i were to speculate i would say they will hold him responsible for reimbursing for the loss.

Here's a better one. Guy I went to high school with goes into KMart, asks to see a shotgun, pulls a couple shells out of his shirt pocket, loads it up and robs the place. The really dumb part is this was in a small town, in a Kmart across the street from the high school, and the clerk was someone that went to that same school with the guy and knew who he was. If you're gonna pull a stunt like that, wouldn't you go find another kmart at least more than a half mile away from home?

Thats what I assume he was thinking. "Who would mess with a troopers car?" Of course knowing the criminal side as well....I say the fact that it's a cop car makes it a target. :D

The guns were only worth a total of $1400 and some dollars. Thats no big deal. The thought of MY guns out on the street and where they might end up and or be used for is the part that would haunt me for the rest of my days.

I've known this guy since I was 5. We went to kindergarten together. I can call him a dumbass!!!! :D I was pretty shocked when I heard he was a State Trooper. I never would have thought him the type.

Brings an interesting event to mind- While in the Air Force, working on F-4's on a "secure" flightline, we were delighted to come across one of our Security Policemen asleep in his truck, windows wide open, and his M-16 lying across the back of the seat - So, we did what good airmen should do- We confiscated his weapon and turned it in to his watch commander - All while the poor cop was sound asleep - I think we all know that sleeping on duty is a big no-no for a military person, and a REAL big mistake for a military cop to get busted snoozing - Add losing your weapon to the list-
Last I heard he was "releived from duty" - I think that was a really polite way of saying he was into some TALL trouble--

Reimburse???
I would like to think that the focus would be on the seriousness involved in his 'mishandling' of such objects (weapons), instead of just their cost. No offense, but that's just plain negligeance - his job should be on the line.

You can also get shots at the drive-throughs as well.

Clay I'm with you on the spallin errors.......I just can't type.
All I have to say is "practice what you preach" Mr. law and order.(meaning the state trooper whose items were pilferred)
Idiots abound....and his stolen equipment just might be used to do harm to someone you know....think on that....

In the case of the Air Force security policeman I spoke of, the last the he needed to worry about was the value of the weapon- Even though we were at peace at the time and something like the WTC was something you could only read about in a Tom Clancy novel--- Well, you can guess the rest--

Oh, I love the daiquiri stands! There was one down the street from where I lived in Lafayette. It was an old train car that they fixed up real cute. Seems kind of bad now that I think about it....the kids were real little then, and they'd always be in the back seat as I swung through there. I can remember them wanting some of my "slurpie" too. :P
