skybytch 273 #1 June 3, 2002 When life gives me lemons... I come here and put up a whiney post! Sigh. Just heard from the loft. My broken main has some major problems. Besides the obvious two broken lines, the rest of the lines are 3" out of trim - so it needs a complete reline. $200+. There's a 1/2 hole at the bridle attachment point that will require taking out and replacing a seam to patch. $50+ (could be as much as $100). There's a 2" hole at the brake line attachment that will require taking out and replacing a seam to patch. $50+. There's 6 or 7 1/4" holes throughout the top skin that could be ripstop taped. And the center cell fabric is getting very porous. So. I can put $350 (or more...) into it and hopefully get a few more jumps out of it. Or I can retire it. Rigger recommended retiring it. I can't afford to repair it, much less afford to buy a new one, even with the really good deal I could get here at work.
