'96 Dodge Stratus. It goes when I hit the gas, and it's more fuel effiecient that the old Suburban. That thing had tons of room (seated 8, six comfortably, 4 very comfortably!) but filling that 42 gallon gas tank was a bear.
Now I want my Suburban back, gas be damned. :(

Not in all cases:
Porsche GT2 Carrera:
Base Engine Size: 3.6 liters
Horsepower: 415hp @ 6000 rpm
Weight: 3395 lbs.
Pounds/hp: 6.96
hp/litre displacement: 126
Corvette Z06
Base Engine Size: 5.7 liters
Horsepower: 405hp @ 6000 rpm
Weight: 3116 lbs.
Pounds/hp: 7.69
hp/litre displacement: 71
For most bang for the buck, right now - a Vette Z06 is definitely the way to go. Though there is rumour that the Japanese are working on building street legal versions of thier rally cars that will push over 400hp for under 40K and handle like a dream. It may be that the fastest cars on the quarter mile and autocross circuit will eventually be factory stock rice burners.

**Horsepower: 415hp @ 6000 rpm** Negative Information!!**
i love the Porsche, but you've got to get to 6800 RPM to get you 300 BHP.dohc 3.4 litre flat 6 cyl. (911 Carrera) not so with the Vette, 385 BHP @ 6000 RPM, 5.7 litre V-8, plus the Vette is some $20,000.00 cheaper, than the 911 Carrera, this is my fifth Corvette. (the Porsche 911 GT2 will set you back a cool $187,724.00, and $67,000.00 for the 911 Carrera) 456 bhp @ 5700 rpm 0-60: 3.6 sec. for the GT2 (stats obtained in this month's Road Test Annual 2002) the Carrera 911 turned in 300 BHP (not 415) @ 6800 rpm with a six speed manuel, 0-60 in 5.0, while the corvette will go 0-60: 4.6 sec (385 bhp) not the Z-06. so for my money, i'll keep driving the vette, beings as they're aren't that many porsches, etc on the road, detroit doesn't have anytrhing to offer right now faster, cheaper. i had a lexus SC-400 back in 1995, put 12K on it and sold it, no balls, it didn't have enough power to pull a sick whore off of a piss pot. 230 bhp, 4 ohc, 32 valve junk pile! (please refer to Road Test Annual 2002 For Stats) they tested the 32 most exciting sports cars, foriegn, and domestic.

My bad, I pulled the hp number for the Carrera Turbo :) Drag racing is best left to the big blocks.
That's what I get for being up past my bedtime.
Aye, the Vette is the best value of power to the dollar on the road today - the old man has a '67 Stingray (you can see a father/son rivalry thing here) that he uses to race around Vancouver and Whistler, had it outfitted with NOS. He tried engaging it through a turn about 6 years ago (it was a time trial event on a track) and ended up twisting the back end out - ended up costing him over 10K to fix it :( Yet he would never put a half decent stereo in it - all it had was really poor AM reception.
