Lindsey 0 #2 May 14, 2002 That's kind of cool.....since I've been reviewing my neuroscience the last few days (just finished that class yesterday....). It does that because of the way the retina and lateral geniculate bodies (part of the optic radiation) are set up in a center/surround configuration.... It's all set up very similar to that grid that you're looking at. If the center is excited, or turned on, the suround is inhibited, or turned off.
