Schroeder 0 #1 April 30, 2002 Well, that's it. The jig is up. I've been laid-off. My company (environmental consultants) has had a dramatic slow-down in the work that comes through drafting, and being on full-time contract, I was among the first to be let go. My work, I understand, has to go to the people who need it, the full-time people who are full employees. It's too bad, especially right now, but I have a feeling things will sort themselves out. Nonetheless, this post will commence the last week of my presence here (for a while). I don't say alot here, but I do learn alot. You guys are great, and are an example of exactly what I hoped I'd find in this sport; a second family. I'm trying to find a way to survive without the corporate world for a while, but it's had to find something "in the industry" that has benefits, and I need those.
