Capitol: Lots of White too.
Washington Monument.
Lincoln thing.
JFK's Flame...not Marilyn Monroe
...etc.

Grew up in DC and I've never been to the White House. I was supposed to on a field trip in 3rd grade. We were in that horrendous line that looped around the grounds and we were acting like the 8 year olds we were. Mrs. Paul threatened that if we didn't behave she'd put us back on the bus. Yeah, right. Damn if she wasn't true to her word! Hehe! Glad you had fun! Say hi to my mom and dad for me!

I've been to just about every site in DC, having been there a few times for touristy stuff. Every time I go to the Smithsonians and I still haven't seen everything and never quite have the time too. I really need to spend a couple weeks up there so I can try to see my favorite monuments again and spend a lot of time in the muesem. A human cannonball, I rise above it all

how funny. i was there all last week.
got to see every monument and museum...
but unfortunately had to keep 76 13-year-olds in line...
then when we locked them in their rooms we hit the bars in georgetown... all in all it was a good trip

I thought the changing of the guard at the "tomb of the unkown soldier" was pretty cool.....they change them I think every half hour, but by the time they go throughthe whole routine there only standing there for like 15 minutes!!!

Yep... I've been just about 10 miles north of DC for 4 years now and I've never done the white house but I've done Air and Space a bunch of times. I think I'm due for another visit too.

Did you see the Albert Einstein statue across from the Viet Nam Memorial? Really cool. You stand in the very center of it and your voice will echo, no matter how low you whisper. Also good spots to hit, Capitol City Brewing Company (unofficially home of the $15.00 hamburger) and Bardoe's Rodeo. A brewpub so big, they have four zip codes. Fun city, if you know where to go. G-Town is great.
