airann 1 #1 April 21, 2002 Ok, so I fill out the million page waiver.Show my reserve repack thingy. And my USPA membership is expired. Yeah, I knew that. So?So? So- You have to pay $45 to renew it to jump here..........I havent decided what I think about that yet..... but I couldnt jump there after the long drive. I came home and went to bed.Ann ~ www.AirAnn.comAnyone want a Kitten?
diverdriver 5 #2 April 21, 2002 Ann, I think you can get a temporary membership for a reduced rate. You don't have to pay the full 45. I could be wrong but I know I payed that years ago one time because the paperwork hadn't shown up yet.Chris

FallRate 0 #5 April 21, 2002 One reason some DZ's require membership in USPA is that the USPA provides insurance which covers the DZ's ass if you should happen to land on someone's car, drop a camera from 12,000' and have it go through someone's skylight, etc... A great perk of joining, in my opinion.FallRate
airann 1 #6 April 21, 2002 I agree with all the insurance affairs that the USPA provides. It was just like a luxury to have a USPA membership at the time when my house is maybe going to be foreclosed on. I was at this dz cause I had jump tickets from forever ago and I could jump also for $12. - So the renewal was almost 4 jumps. At least I got a long nap. All three dogs jumped in the bed with me and we watched a Sean Connery film, so its all good. Want a Kitten? means exactly that. I have 5 baby Kittens that are adorable for anyone except -Derek. Hook n Swoop or whatever, GlockMan, PaintBallDude, or MostAwesomeJM, or call him crazy - - - but he aint getting a kitty.puppies and bunnies - puppies and bunnies? - I think that is what he says when I am saying something he doesnt want to hear. It should be puppies and kittens, but kittens are strangely missing from this ....... its a sign...... And- I have a Cat named Target, but not for the same reason Derek would name one Target. My Target has 3 real clear circles on each side that looks like a Target. He was rescued from a ditch in a big rain and I raised he and Monster from a bottle. Levins cat named Oscar had the kittens-Temp names areGoat - white male very cute, All white, almost an albino, except for tip of tail, Kinda looks like Goat.AggieDave - Univ of Texas Orange Tabby- male, LOL, was 1st to get into trouble Blue- Blue female or male, I forgot- (pick of the litter)Jessica - black soft hair female (extremely smart and fun)Phreezone - black soft hair male ( very smart and fun, more laid back than the female black one)Also they are advanced kittens.... I started feeding them real kitten food, mashed when they were just short of 4 weeks. Then just after 4 weeks they learned litter box affairs. Goat was the first to use the litterbox. I had to relieve the mother cat from the breast feeding because she was injured by the fingernails of the kittens around her breasts and she really only has 4.5 breasts that function properly. That is why Goat was often left out. So I started with the supplemental food. And it made them smart and very healthy and funny as hell. Ann ~ www.AirAnn.comAnyone want a Kitten? Dutchboy 0 #8 April 21, 2002 I've even heard of some DZ's not letting foreign jumpers jump there, even when they are members of the appropriate organization in their country! Their license is recognized here, just as mine is there.Isn't it wonderful how the USPA has managed to force every skydiver to give them money every year. The DutchboyPhil's Flying Enterprises, Inc. FallRate 0 #9 April 21, 2002 DZ's are not required by the USPA or FAA to require that every jumper is a USPA member. It is the DZ's choice and it happens to be a good one.The exception to this are DZ's that operate on municipal airports where the local port authority requires USPA membership for insurance reasons. The alternative option in those cases would be for the DZ's to provide their own insurance. This would be quite costly for the DZ's.You do not have to become a member of the USPA to skydive. But you do have to follow any DZ's guidelines when taking advantage of the "playground" they are providing you.I personally don't like the fact that I can't go to McDonalds while wearing no pants. (Something about the Big Breakfast and Orange Juice while free-balling that really gets the day going!) But I deal with it. :)FallRate

airann 1 #12 April 21, 2002 Its not so much the idea to have a membership or not. I was getting around to renewing it. Thats ok.I just wanted to jump that day instead of buying a membership. Let me think.... 4 jumps or a membership.... 4 jumps or a membership......... I wanted the 4 jumps @ 12 bucks. Pay membership later. I wanted to jump both days at $12 a jump. I guess I wanted to wait till I could come back into town and cash a check and then go back out on Sun and handle it. I dont like to jump with stuff bugging me. Today maybe I go back out and jump without bugs. Hard to tell the grass needs mowing.Ann ~ www.AirAnn.comAnyone want a Kitten?

He tries to run but trips and falls down, then gets up and runs up to Aggie Dave, turns sideways, then Puffs Up real big and falls over....Ann ~ www.AirAnn.comAnyone want a Kitten? airann 1 #17 April 21, 2002 You know I go to some degree of extremes with these little guys to make sure their childhood isnt traumatic. They know about people, and some dogs.... they have manners, ie litterbox.... They are not suposed to climb up a persons leg.... or cry too much....But I taught Sister to speak, and Levin taught TrailMix to chirp like a bird when spoken to..... These should be alot like Sister. If you talk to them they should say something back ... they do now... Ann ~ www.AirAnn.comAnyone want a Kitten? base698 14 #18 April 21, 2002 No shit there I was...Horseshoe malfunction. I through out the pilot chute only to watch it go into a bag lock configuration. I said fuck it and pulled my red handle. The bag flies off. Pulled silver and had an uneventful landing. Come thirty minutes later... A car with a destroyed windshield and passenger window. The bag had hit the car and caused the damage! They had the canopy with them too. $1600 in auto damage of which the USPA paid with no questions asked. Basically if I bought my lifetime memebership it would be for free.See it is good for something.

airann 1 #24 April 21, 2002 Chicken- it was something like that. Except I was thinking along the lines of I wonder what the weather is like in San Marcus today.... or Dallas .... or anywhere else but ...The problem wasnt life threatening or anything. Just kinda funny in a way. Yesterday, just sat square right on top of another bad issue I had on Wednesday. Whereby afterwards I was too damn MAD to jump there. (someplace else) So I may have tried to act a certain way which was not in order with my particular mindset. It would have been a mess. And my jumps would have sucked.....And besides its fun to be in a giant bed with all my dogs and The sister cat too for an afternoon Sean Connery movie. I just wished it was raining. heheAnn ~ www.AirAnn.comAnyone want a Kitten?

I thinksomeone gave it the wrong name....The little Goat was really quiet but had some good manners, AggieDave was really pusshy and kept climbing on top of the other kittens to get picked up first. Blue was so soft, but has some good size claws. I like Jessica the most... she is really soft and was the cutest out of the bunch. She also just like to snuggle up when someone payed attention to her. Then Phreezone was the so cool nothing bothered him, James Dean style cat out of the bunch. Nothing fazed him and he stayed close to his fellow black haired feline.Anyone that lives anywhere near Ann's place should take a look at this cute bunch and take one home....
