GrumpySmurf 0 #55 April 19, 2002 If you huge and expensive, Porsche is coming out with an SUV later this year called the Cayenne S and the Cayenne Turbo (or more commonly, and not-so-affectionately refered to as a 'Pepperpot') - supposedly the Turbo can do 0 to 60 mph in just over 5 seconds. GrumpySmurf 0 #58 April 19, 2002 Don't ask me. 'Porsche goes soccer mom'From a business standpoint - it makes great sense - the US is thier biggest market, and the Yanks love big SUVs. So why not make a big SUV that goes like a bat out of hell. From an enthusiasts standpoint, this has caused an uproar with alot of current owners and may hurt thier global image as an exclusive sports car manufacturer - especially since like 90% of the vehicle will be made by Volkswagon - only the engine will be built in Weissach. I think the bloody thing is ugly, like a stationwagon on crack. But the same happened with the Volkswagon partnership of the 914 and 924 lines and will probably blow over like they did. GrumpySmurf 0 #59 April 19, 2002 I'm more concerned with all the speed and weight, as in how many deaths of occupants of other cars are going to be attributed to it. At least with the current production vehicles (the 996 and 986 lines), with the engine in the rear/middle - if you drive like an idiot and hit somebody, you're gonna die. With this vehicle, with the extra weight and a V-8 up front - you're gonna kill someone.

AiRpollUtiOn 0 #61 April 19, 2002 If I was like the richest man that has ever walked the face of the planet, I'd buy an aircraft carrier, stuff it with some C-130, turbolet, skyvans and a chinouk heli, swooping ponds on the deck (beside the really big one around my vehicle), and a great bar on this sort of below deck next to the water beach-like balcony.I have a dream...Would take skydivers worldwide on free jump-cruises! kallend 2,027 #62 April 19, 2002 Two of our trustees are rich: like billionaires (one is former chairman of Motorola, other owns the Hyatt Regency hotel chain).About 4 years ago I hosted each of them at a student event. One turned up in a chauffeur driven stretch limo, the other (the richer of the two) drove himself in an old Ford Taurus.

PLFXpert 0 #66 April 19, 2002 I'm not really into fancy cars. I'd probably have my same car. BZ would want a Hummer. I wouldn't mind having a couple Harleys, either, and a nice motorcoach. Ha ha ha. If i won the lottery, though, you probably wouldn't be able to tell just by looking. I'm not so much into having things as I am just being able to travel whenever I want and not have to work. Those would be more perks for me, being rich, than having a fancy car. My favorite car is a '69 Mustang but I don't think I'd buy one. I'm happy with the car I have now.Much love and blue skies,Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/

Engovatov 0 #73 April 20, 2002 Unlimited money? Sedan - probably BMW M5, wagon - S6 Avant.. coupe - MB SL500. More practical allroad quatro. And no, I do not feel any affection for exotics or hot rods..Even more practical (much cheaper) - I already got - BMW 325XiT - bike fits in.. all the gear fits in.. can sleep inside.. drives over snow fine, drives over dry mountian rods - ver-ry fine, vinyl wears like iron - no dirt or oil ruins it, .. cheaper then your SUV (<34K out of the door in CA - no stupid automatic and crazy options), does not attract attention.. does not tip over.. ;)

Add normal markup over $29240 invoice.. add tax and registration ( - and you do not need shit like navigation, leather and automatic, do not you?)I did not get it - you think it too much or too little?I thought it is an OK deal for 6-cyl AWD vagon (compared to Passat V6, Audi, Outback 6H, Volvo, E320 4motion..)
