Two weeks ago when i started working at NCC i was there helping close out for the second time ever and this well dressed guy comes it to pick up two medium format camera worth a little over $8000. He pays with a big bank check, and then leaves. *Fast Forward to Today about 5:30pm* I was at my register doing my thing when the Owner and the Manager Come up to me and ask me to come back to the back offices for a second. The Owner John Takes over my post and i walk back there with Toni were i am greeted with two of my other Co-Workers and an Plain Clothed cop. It turns out that that first check was a counterfit, and that the cop was gonna there to arrest the guy. B/c you see on the whole criminals are stupid greedy idiots, This guy is a perfect example of the greedy idiot type b/c after he got away with $8300 of stuff he called back and ordered Two Nikon D1X's (each is worth a little over $5000). The owner went to the police and explained what was going on. They sent this cop down to the store along with two marked cars. Anyway they inform me that this guy is coming in today to pick up the two cameras, and that when he shows up to Tell him that the camera are in the back b/c of the Value of them. I am then supposed to Page John the Owner to come up to the front and tell him that This Guy was here to pick up the cameras. He would then go get the boxs and have the Cop walk out behind him. Well I told them i understood and walked out to the register to go back to work. The second i releaved John, a scruffy looking guy walked through the door and anounced that he was here to pick up to Digital Camera. At this point John was still right behind me. I turned around and smiled at John and told him that the Two D1x's were ready for pickup. He went in the back got the boxs and the cop. I rug up the sale like normal (other than my heart beating like i was getting ready in the door) and asked the guy for his drivers license so i could copy his DL# onto the check. He said that he hadn't brought his License (he drove to the store) but that he remembered it. So i wrote that down and Stamped the check and put it in the register and had the guy sign a recipt(sp) and printed out anotherone for him. He gathered up his stuff and walked out the door with a soon to be gone smile with the cop close behind. The cop stoped him flashed his badge and took the boxs from him and gave them to Toni. While that was happening the two cop cars came to a screaching halt (not kidding they locked up the brakes with the lights flashing and all that jazz) The "perp" () kinda spun around, but realizing he was surrounded gave up. Well It turns out the first guy sent this other guy to pick up the new order. Remember i told you he drove to the store? Well he drove there in a brandnew 2002 BMW with only 1000 miles on it. Now here is the kicker, inside the car was one of the camera from the original Sale, along with a bunch of other checks with large amounts on them for other stores in the area. Also there was a large amount of porno tapes in his trunk!!!! bwhahaha jesus what a moron.Just thought i would share my day. oh ya do you think i will be called to court seeing as i was the cashier both times? And make "perp" () identifications.....Me?
