Viking 0 #1 April 18, 2002 Ok i need you guys to check my math. I make $9 an hour and time&half when i work more than 8 hours a day. I work 24 hours normal time and 5 hour on time&half. So thats $283.50 a week, there are 52 weeks in a year, so that $14,742. Now mind you this is not counting any tax or anything like that. But still thats seems damn good for a parttime job I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver

mountainman 0 #4 April 18, 2002 That is good, but are you actually going to work 52 weeks per year without taking ANY of it off. Then you need to take your taxes and SS out, but you should get some back in taxes. AndyMan 7 #5 April 18, 2002 A general rules is to take your hourly wage and multiply by 2000 - as you will take some time off for holidays, etc.Not bad for a part time gig while in school. Not great, but not bad. _AmICQ: 5578907MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfeYahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

AndyMan 7 #8 April 18, 2002 Two thousand hours is 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year. This assumes you take two weeks off.2000 hours is the standard calculation._AmICQ: 5578907MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfeYahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

ChromeBoy 0 #10 April 18, 2002 Bill Von made $15,000 just reading his post. Seriously though, he said somewhere that he made about $15k skydiving last year. Just take out a huge loan from the bank to cover training/jumps/gear and you can make at least that skydiving.Human beings were not meant to sit in little cubicles staring at computer screens all day! -Office Space
rking12 0 #11 April 18, 2002 Standard business practice is to use 2080 hours for a full time person. This assumes they will be paid for a two week vacation. You did right just multiplying your hours, just figure out what Uncle Sam gets (Probably 17 to 25% depending on your W-2) and you know how much you make.
