gale 0 #2 April 17, 2002 Nice. Not terribly "freaky" though if you ask me. Of course, I have purple hair, so I may be no judge. On a personal note, what do you do for a living? I personally find that unusual hair colourings can get employers all worked up. It's right up there with piercings.GaleLife's not worth living if you can't feel alive
Ducky 0 #3 April 17, 2002 Ahhh, there in lies the key Gale...I am self employed for all intents and purposes. I am in construction, I deal with builders and some GCs, but I am no-ones employee. That helps a bit, BUT I doubt I would ever work for someone who would forbid me to do such things to my hair or body, just not my style.kwakStupidity is a crime. I too wanted red about two summers ago and got orange, didn't like it much. I of course spend big bucks in a salon and got orange! DUH! I don't go to that stylist any more, after she did me with the Tweety Bird Yellow and couldn't fix it, I told her bye. ( I had ask for platinum blond)I can check to see what brand color I used on my son if you would like. It came out pretty true to the color on the swatch. Did you bleach your hair first? Did it actually come out almost white or was it more of a yellow with some orange in it? I was a little worried about the color because my son and I have a redish highlights to our hair and when you bleach it you have to use an neutralizer to tone down the orange that's still in it. But no worries, it turned out great! He still has hair (I didn't burn it off his head with the chemicals), and it's a darn nice green color.Blue is a nice color as well, but of course you know most of us have a soft spot for the sky blue.Diva
 gale 0 #24 April 17, 2002 Oh, seeing as I have a lot of experience in this area, if anyone wants to know, I do this:You have to bleach your hair unless it is already blond. And then the coloured dye I use is called Jeans Haircolouring. It's only available in salons but it's well worth the money because of the trueness of colour and its lasting power. Also, you can mix colours to get the shade you want. I've used Fudge, which is really popular but after trying Jeans I'm totally converted.GaleLife's not worth living if you can't feel alive
 Ducky 0 #25 April 18, 2002 Diva n Gale,Yes I did bleach my hair before dying it as I have brown hair to start with. I used the only thing I could find that resembled a true red on the box, "Clairol Extreme Color FX" I think? I redyed tonight with the leftover red. It was not the type of dye you had to mix so I had lots leftover. It came out a little better but not quite what i wanted still.kwakStupidity is a crime.
