LawnDart21 0 #1 April 5, 2002 Okay, it's been 95 days since my last cigarette, and I figured I'd shamelessly promote my success. I quit on New Years eve, and haven't had one since. Not much, if any withdrawl, I was smoking a pack a day for 10 years, and I think I just smoked all I needed to smoke. Anyways, just thought I'd throw that out there. LawnDart21 0 #8 April 5, 2002 The funny thing is, I used to actually smoke under canopy from time to time........I know, I know, DUMBASS, but it was actually pretty cool, just sitting back in brakes just puffing away. Thanks Skymama, that made my day!"I live to EFS"Tom
TEB6363 0 #9 April 5, 2002 Great Job!! I quit tobacco on November 2nd, 2001. Hope it is good for me, because life sucked for a while afterwards.:::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, .. Why are these "Extra" Lines Draping Down??, Damn!
skymama 37 #10 April 5, 2002 Quote I used to actually smoke under canopy from time to time That reminded me of the other night, when I went for water training. The instructor, "Mad Dog" was sitting there smoking, and next to him was the old parachute we were using for training. He reached over and put the end of his lit cigarette on the canopy, smiled and said, "I've always wanted to do that!"AndiThe brave may not live forever, but the timid may not live at all. AndyMan 7 #13 April 5, 2002 It's so great to hear all these success stories. I can't count how many times I've "quit", and I'm in the middle of yet another of one these attempts. It's been about 2 weeks so far. It's so nice to hear from people who've been at it for longer._AmICQ: 5578907MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfeYahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
LawnDart21 0 #14 April 5, 2002 95 days X $4 a pack = $380 I've saved so far, that 17 jmps!
jtval 0 #15 April 5, 2002 awesome job everyone-kelly, we're not non-smokers...we're ex smokers in some cases we're worst then those who never smokedyoure all passed the hard part, now sit back and count your money!( or give it to manifest!)getting high is fun, but coming down is the best partJT
jtval 0 #16 April 5, 2002 I used to smoke 2.5 - 3 packs a day!!!well I just did some calculation;3 packs365 days/year3.50(a conservative price but thats what I was paying2.5 years ago.I saved.....$9,158.25....Ironically when I figure out how much I spent on skydiving. It's abundantly more but at least there is something to show(or tell) for it.getting high is fun, but coming down is the best partJT
Emmie 0 #17 April 5, 2002 Good for you man! I wish that I could say the same for myself. I actully don't smoke at all untill I get to a dropzone, then something just goes off, and I'm craving cigarettes. I don't even buy my own, and I still end up smoking tons of cigarettes during the weekend.
MrHixxx 0 #18 April 5, 2002 Very cool!!! It has been 4572 days since my last smoke. When I was 22 and in rehab (I started at 12, not cool) the doc said I had lost 10 percent off of both lungs and that I would have ephezima (sp?) by 25 if I didn't quit. I quit a year later cold turkey and have had zip, zero, zilch, nada since...keep it up mon, Hixxx"Sous ma tub, Dr. Suess ma tub"
Jessica 0 #19 April 5, 2002 I'm at just over three months. I fucking rock the casbah! Here's a story for my fellow ex-smokers: I had a REALLY fucking stressful day last week, and I became obsessed with thoughts of smoking. Before I could stop myself, I'd bought a pack. Hands trembling, I put one in my mouth, lit it, inhaled...and smoked a third of it before I flicked it off into the distance cause it tasted like hammered crap. So, I guess I'm really and truly done! Yay us.The door is openWe are way the fuck up hereMight as well get out.~ FallingMarc

skybytch 273 #21 April 5, 2002 Quotewell... still not smoking either!! its been 3 weeks 3 days Keep it up girl! You rock!I'm not doing quite as well.. I have good days and bad days. Surprisingly, I do better when I'm around people; it's when I'm sitting around the house or driving alone that I really start craving. Probably wasn't the best idea to cutaway from a 16 year relationship and quit smoking all in the same week huh? pull & flare, lisa
jumppilot01 0 #22 April 5, 2002 Been 16 days for me and 23 (I think) for freefalin14...Being in college (well, actually a skydiver:-), I have been drunk numerous times in those 16 days and have really never had a drunk craving. I can say now I think I beat it....I have yet to see the benefits, as I am still coughing a lot and now have strep throat...Is this what I get for quitting?:-)Keep up the good work everyone,-Adam

jtval 0 #25 April 6, 2002 you will be sick for awhile. but increase your exercise and water intake it'll help speed the process of spring cleaning.Jess-I had a similar feeling when I KNEW FOR A FACT THAT I WILL NEVER SMOKE AGAIN. one of the girls that I was stationed with didnt believe me that I quit so she blew smoke in my face to temp me....yea, I threw up 3 times. she felt so bad. I just laughed and said ..do you believe me now.(then i went and brushed me teeth, yuck)It was actually the funniest thing I have been involve with in a long time. But that was when I KNEW I quit. anyone? anyone got goofy embarassing stories like that!?getting high is fun, but coming down is the best partJT
