PLFXpert 0 #26 March 30, 2002 QuoteYou said that hey, if it makes you happy, do it! I for the most part agree, but wouldn't it be worth asking sometimes: _Why_ does this make me happyAgreed that for some reason, it aids to some people's insecurities. However, sometimes it's just a matter of having fun with yourself and what God gave you and not necessarily covering up any insecurities. I believe God has given everyone their characteristics to get full enjoyment out of them. God gave me eyelashes so I could have fun and paint them if I want to.I couldn't begin to count the # of skydivers at my DZ whose hair is an "un-natural" color...there is every color of the rainbow represented. I don't think if I were to ask them, "Hey, why'd you dye your hair pink?" their answer would be because they are "insecure" about having brunette hair or blonde hair or whatever. It's just fun. Some people dye their hair pink or wear a funky outfit or put on red lipstick or whatever, just for fun. Why try to make it any more complicated? Like I said, I agree that sometimes it covers insecurities but I don't believe in automatically stereotyping everyone who dyes their hair, etc, into that category. Some people even view it as a way of expressing themselves or a form of art, no different than getting a tattoo, which I also have. I love my body and I will have fun with it any way I want to. It's a simple as thatMuch love and blue skies,Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
hooked 0 #27 March 30, 2002 I have to agree with Donna on the 'strong' perfume! I can't stand it and I do get a headache when someone has used way too much of a very strong perfume. Sometimes you can smell them coming and they obviously use way too much!J

dove 0 #39 March 31, 2002 I don't wear any scent, though guys are always telling me "Mmmmmm, you smell SOOOO good!" so the Eau de Dove thing is working for me. And I have to say that I am most turned on by a man's natural scent. I don't mind if he wears something every once in a while when going out - but I'd rather smell HIM than smell his cologne. If I snag a t-shirt from his place it is cause I am addicted to his natural aroma! Yummmmmm!!!!!dove

airann 1 #46 March 31, 2002 I wear smelly stuff, 274, or 360 or Vic Sec stuff in a pink bottle. at the dz I just about kiss and hug everyone, habit I guess... One guy never fails to say You ALWAYS smell good. Now about the other stuff makeup etc, I dont do it... Its just me AirAnn, I slap some body butter on but thats about it. If I look extremely washed out a tiny bit of pink on my cheeks works. But its off after the first jump and nobody cares anyway. There is a certain kind of chapstick that my friend sends me from NC and I use it. It used to be that my chin would get windburned. Now I have a chin cup so...For a long timeand you may see it in some videos/pictures I jumped with long fingernails. This I cant help, my grandmother had long fingernails hard as rocks. I inherited them and got a Vietnamese lady to take care of them for me. Now she would yell to the high heavens everytime I came in there....What you do?.. You skydive? ...What you do? ...Ahhhhhmmmmmmmmm...NO, ....I fixed, Now what you do? You do this??? No I fix.... I fix but you skydive... What you do this? Everytime I fix...?Well, needless to say the only thing I had done was a french manicure cause corp america seems to need the execs to have this feature. But the polish gets banged up when I work in the yard and skydive. The lady and I had differences of opinion about these things. I wanted the nails to look good but I also wanted to go out and be ruff and tuff. I think she wanted me to sit at home and look at my fingernails. Now, I have since got a helmet hair cut, cause my hair would get all ratted up -(should have been there when i explained what I needed to my hair lady...) And I wear just a tan. And no fingernail stuff.Ann ~ www.AirAnn.comLevin in RW suit.. I have pictures!!!
PLFXpert 0 #47 March 31, 2002 Love yourself. Love your body, and have fun with it. Die your hair pink. Paint your toe nails funky colors. Get a tattoo and pierce your nips. dove 0 #49 March 31, 2002 I wear a little makeup... once one of my guy friends saw me putting on makeup and was astounded! He said "Wow! I didn't know you wear makeup!" I didn't know whether to take that as a compliment or insult! I don't even like the way a lot of makeup feels. Takes me about 2 minutes to put it on. But I always have lots of chapstick for my big lips!dove
AggieDave 6 #50 March 31, 2002 QuoteBut now you are putting yourself at risk for HepC... and that's definitely not funGo look up the stats of this actually happening from modern studios in the past 15-20 years. It isn't something that generally happends anymore. Basically because modern studios have gone way out of their way to sterilize and modernize proceedures. Speaking of which, can I borrow $150?
