Got a new SUV!!

Just leased a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport SUV from my ex!! He got me a great deal!! I have never had a vehicle this big!! I'm only 5'2" & it seemed a little intimidating at first. Now I get into it and feel REALLY big! It's a gold/champaigne color...very cool! I'm happy!! Now I need to afford some more jumpies!! ; )

Congratulations on the SUV. I bet it is big if you are 5'2. But just think of all the little cars you can run over if they make you mad. Be careful parallel parking because it is hard to see out the back.

Yeah...well, the parking IS an issue! I cant figure out how much room I have in front...and behind. But it will be fun on trips to Tahoe, Monterey, maybe I'll drive to the WFFC in Chicago!! Oh no....Lummy would hate that me thinks!! : )

Cool! Congratulations! I just got a 2002 Blazer. She's dark green and I named her Sydney. Now I don't have to worry about getting up my driveway in the snow. Have fun with your Explorer!

Congrats on the new SUV. That was my second choice to the Dodge Dakota. Make sure you let the people riding in the back that space will be a little tight getting in and out.
Who ever said comming down from a high was bad obviously never tried this.

they can always curl up...lots of space when you let the seat down & stuff. In fact, it's easy to sleep in too!!

Great SUV, I do a lot of off-roading and there is just no replacement for trucks in that category. I still wonder sometimes about whether or not I should have gotten the Ford. By the way is yours the 2002 model? If so then it has a great look to match that even better sticker.
Who ever said comming down from a high was bad obviously never tried this.

Just be careful. Just about every other accident you see around here has one small car with its front smashed in and airbags deployed sitting by the side of the road - and an SUV rolled over in a ditch. You can't drive them like ordinary cars, because they will often roll before the wheels start to skid (especially when they hit those California lane marker reflectors.) They also tend to get stuck a lot more often than normal cars in snow, sand etc. I think it's because people take their 2WD SUV's out in snow and sand more often - "Hey, it's an SUV, it can handle it!" - when they have no more traction than any other 2WD car. I have a friend who regularly pulls SUV's out of the sand with her Subaru Legacy (full time 4WD car.)

Yup. My next car's gonna be an Audi w/ quattro. I'll get a car that's still fun to drive, can handle a harsh winter, plus I'll be able to do 90% of what a sportUte will, without the added sticker price, without the extra gas, without the extra insurance...
It'll probably be an A6, but I'm gonna see if I can get the boss to spring for the wagon. Those are sweet.

Trust me Bill, you *can* get a nice 4wd very off-road capable truck stuck too... even when you're not trail riding.
