Jabeln79 0 #1 March 31, 2002 [Flame resistant umbrella open]Just a thought, I think this has come up in some form or the other but, what if we took away post numbers, and status title. Do you think we all would post as much if it didnt mean that we come that much closer to getting a new title? Would people get flamed for post whoring? Would people post whore? This is a great site and love coming home from work or the DZ to see what everyone has to say, but lately I find more and more negativity in the posts, not just from post whoring but many other reasons. I think that if we were given title for different reasons it might be a little different, and people wouldnt get greif for asking a lot of questions or replying to a lot of posts. Maybe different titles for how long weve been a member of the site, jump numbers would be good, but no way to track them and then all of a sudden everyone has a super amount of jumps for that coveted title of Fanatic. Just a thought sorry its been a long day. They give us something fun to laugh at sometimes, but beyond that they truely don't mean much. You'll notice people blatantly post-whore when they get close to a significant number or post something talking about reaching a "00" number, etc. That's just skydiver nature and they're just lucky I'm not in arm's reach with a pie...The fighting and such will happen no matter what, that eutopian society doesn't exsist unfortunatly. It seems more obvious sometimes since this is a moderated site and the fact that moderators lock threads draws attention to the fights.With all the bad and the good I still love hanging around here on this site, meeting new people, learning new things and enjoying the skydiving family that has evolved here.
