Who else is waiting for their refund?

I've got a major problem (what else is new), I filed my taxes around Feb. 20th, and still haven't gotten my refund, so I called the IRS and they said they haven't received anything from me. I's been 5 weeks already, does this usually take this long? I'm kind of in desperate need of this money, since when I come back from spring break I will be completely broke.
Do you think they lost it? the fuckers! Is anyone experiencing the same problems? I know absolutely nothing about taxes, and I've always owed money, so this is my first refund. Can anyone with any knowledge of how this all work help me out?

usually when you file as early as you did it's a fairly quick turnaround. Did you keep a copy of the return (you should have, along with all the supporting papers). If so, you should probably call them and ask if you can re-submit it.

Dont understand it myself, but have had the same problems.
I was owed money, so filled in all the forms, only to receive a letter saying, they owed me nothing and I owed them nothing! Apparently I had not been in work for a year! Righto.
After many a confusing phone call, form filling and letter writing . . . eventually I got £90 (which was spent in a weekend on jump tickets).
Bastards - its all bloody hassel - hope you get it sorted.

I did mine on the web. I used the Turbo Tax software and paid $15 to have my refund put straight into my account. It only took them 10 day to send me my money.

I got my taxes back already, but I'm still waiting on my $300.00 from last summers tax releif program. I have sent multiple letters and plenty of phone calls and still nothing.

That happened to me about 3 years ago. I sent everything in, but the IRS must've lost it. I had to go through the hassle of re-submitting everything, but thank god i made copies. It was still a frustrating pain in the ass though.

Did mine as well through turbotax (oo that reminds me I still need to do the other state since i'm multi-state this year) got my refund within 10 days, going straight to pay for lasik surgery.

They are probably waiting on GETTING my $2500.00 (aarrgggh!!!) so they can send you your refund! Damn, IT SUCKS! That sure is ALOT of jump tickets!

Ever notice that when you owe they cash your check before it even seems possible that is had arrived and when they owe you it takes forever? Since I always owe (self-employed) I file on April 15th.

Waiting on almost $400 from the Feds, but I ended up owing the state $180 because an out of state employer with a local presence (so I'm technically an instate employee) didn't take out Illinois taxes.
