GroundZero 0 #29 March 21, 2002 Hmmmmmm....(don't enter the witch-hunt arena... don't do it, don't...)Well I did it anyway. The information that you received from Simon Mundell probably came from the wind tunnel (hehehe), so I won't dispute it (hehehehehe)...HMA has twice the life of Vectran. Period. Look at the line. Make a stow...notice how much smaller that total group of lines is compared to the Vectran 580 lines lines currently on your VX. Only an inverse wind tunnel can tell you that less produces more drag. Hogwash! As far as relining, FX's and VX's with HMA... Once the Xaos-21 was released, we were swamped with requests to reline EXTremes with HMA. Initially, we asked that the customers contact Icarus canopies with their requests. Icarus told the customers no. (I'm speculating, but I think it was only because of zero experience with the line.) To engineer the lineset for an EXTreme required a bit of work as it had to be continuous (because of the small line strength)... we use 160, 200 and 430 kg strengths. We also incorporate our stabilrib (which removes the endcell logo panels....). I have never had it requested, but if you'd like your logo panels sewn onto our stabilribs Derek, we'd be happy to accomodate. Our X-FX and X-VX mods are becoming very popular, I have yet to hear a negative report. (But it still ain't a Xaos!)We have not removed warning labels on any mods. Simply let us know if you'd like to have your EXTreme label sewn on to the new stabilrib.more on HMA... can't confirm it, but I was told that another manufacturer has prototype canopies competing at BladeRaid using HMA line... Thanks!ChrisDerek, perhaps you're unaware that Precision is a major stockholder of Icarus Canopies, Inc. ... some of your statements are incorrect. skycat 0 #31 March 21, 2002 You see thought this brings back what I learned when I worked sales. Make a customer extremely happy they will tell 3 or 4 people, make a customer even slightly unhappy and they will tell everyone.
prost 0 #32 March 22, 2002 I would compare them removing the labels more to what Saleen does. They modify the cars and then take the mustang badge off and put a Saleen one on. Same with Callaway and Corvettes. I really don't give two cents about the label though.William
