AggieDave 6 #6 March 21, 2002 QuoteMaybe those brilliant minds will create a black hole or something WWWWOOOOPPPPSSS!! Maybe just a small one, about 3ft in diameter. They could use it as a trashcan, like Enron shredding only better. Think about the money they could make selling it to CEOs and stuff..."ahhhhoo...the little guy hasn't done anything yet and you know its going to be good..." jfields 0 #7 March 21, 2002 During the Manhattan Project, the original creators of the atomic bomb didn't really know if the chain reaction would dampen out, or if it would continue building and take out the entire planet. And they tried it anyway. It does make you wonder sometimes.Justin
PhillyKev 0 #8 March 21, 2002 Give it a couple years...After the Large Hadron Collider goes online in 2006, physicists will try to make black holes by slamming protons together. These particles are made of even smaller subparticles called quarks and gluons. If two of these "partons" collide to form a black hole, the result should be spectacular.http://college3.nytimes.com/guests/articles/2001/09/11/867254.xmlcielos azules y cerveza fría-Kevin

PalmettoTiger 1 #10 March 21, 2002 QuoteResulting in such new and wonderful ways to kill each other. Centuries of science have given us more robust ways to do just about anything on the battlefield - communicate, observe, move, attack, etc. But beyond helmets and flak jackets, just about only thing science hasn't done is increase the capacity of the human body to withstand damage.
