Anyone in NewZealand?

Recommended Posts

I want to plan a trip for next year to NewZealand and am looking for a contact there to show me or inform me as to where to skydive and to scuba dive. I'm actually looking for a package deal if poss. but if not, just haveing someone to answer questions would help.
I've looked through most of the "travel" sites like travelocity etc. and can't seem to get anywhere.
Anyone want to go with me? :)SKYDIVING GAVE ME A REASON TO LIVE....

This is from Enclave, but there are heaps of DZs in NZ......Great Lakes at Taupo comes highly recommended.
South Island's the most scenic, but North is probably better for scuba, you should allow time to visit both, as each is worthwhile.
Kiwi Land is cool, you are gonna have a blast there, and won't want to come home.
Don't get a package, its real easy to travel round with plenty of cheap motels/etc to stay at. Car hire and internal flying is reasonable.
An absolute must is a visit to Queenstown, there is an atmosphere and vibe there that I have not experienced anywhere else. Somebody told me that there is a convergence of ley lines (highways of natural energy) there, mebbe its true if you believe in that sort of thing. It probably explains why Queenstown is the adventure sports capital of the known universe.
And the beer is good all over NZ too.......
Pyke is a Kiwi, mebbe he can help or PM me, its been a while since I was there last tho....

Hi Linda,
I just returned from New Zealand... like DV said, the place is great for tourist(s). Everything is designed to make it easy to get around. The US dollar goes far, therefore hotel's are relatively inexpensive. There are also hostels, and rv/camp parks EVERYWHERE! I can't say enough about the people - they are truly beautiful, very generous and are eager to show you around their country. I traveled most of the North Isle, visited the South via a cessna 172 for 2 days... I am definitely going back to see more of the South isle. Skydive Aukcland are primarily freeflyers but will welcome anyone as family regardless (as most DZ's do!). Taupo/Rotorua are primarily tandem factories, however they do get the occasional fun jump in. Can't speak for any other DZ's...
If you plan on staying in one location, I suggest renting a place - CHEAP!!! I think I'll go that route next time! I saw some 3 bedroom homes going for 300 kiwi (approx. $150) a month.
You should talk to Christian @ Elsinore, he's originally from there! Plus I'd be happy to give my 2 cent's worth. Have a great time!!!
