christopherm 0 #1 March 12, 2002 Ok, so Sunday wasn't the best day of jumping I've ever had. I arrived early since I am a packer there at the DZ. There was a hop n' pop going up and I was rushing to get on. I didn't put on a sweatshirt, I just went in the sweatshirt and jeans I had on. The jump was awesome and I actually got my first B landing. Unfortunately, when I attemted to go to lunch I realized I had left my keys in my sweatshirt pocket and had lost them in freefall! I had to have a mechanic help me hotwire my own car to get home! I would feel better about myself if someone can say they have done the same thing before :)-So, how hard is the ground?! ScottishJohn 25 #2 March 12, 2002 There was a Dutch jumper jumping at Hinton last summer. Because the weather was was he decided to just jump in his jeans and T shirt (it was really nice weather not like the crap you get at this time of the year)He done about 4 jumps that afternoon and had a great time jumping at Hinton until at the end of the day when he went to pay his jump bill and discovered that the eighty quid he had in his back pocket was no longer there.I can't remember the guys name as that was the only time I have seen him there. ADRNALN 0 #3 March 12, 2002 I had my belt buckle popoff during deployment. I looked kind of funny wlking back to the hanger with my belt undone like I had just had thanksgiving dinner.
crazymel 0 #4 March 12, 2002 Not really, but I lost my shoe on my first hop 'n pop (Level 8)...Kinda went like this....jumped backwards, went unstable, knew the instructor failed me (for the first time!!) got mad at myself, and didn't arch!!! Started "tumbling" pretty bad, my left shoe came loose, cut my right foot (yes, there was some blood) then hit me against my head.....went "Oh f&*k - that must have been 5 seconds - PULL!!!) Pulled totally unstable and on my back at the time -and obviously had line twist. Had a stunning landing with one shoe on, and hid from my JM for some time (to allow him to get over the shock...yeah right) That night we had a one shoe party (nobody was allowed to wear two shoes) and watched the video to see where the shoe dropped. Went out and searched for it - and FOUND it!!!!!! What a night.....

JeffGordon 0 #8 March 12, 2002 Guy at my home dz jumped with his keys in his pants pocket. On opening, the leg strap jammed his car key almost all the way into his leg. He said he had to keep shifting in his harness to try keep it from pushing it in further.
Tee 0 #9 March 12, 2002 I had a friend that was doing a freefly jump and instead of putting on his freefly pants, he just left on his heavy material pants that zip off at the knee into shorts. Well, thankfully he had his wallet in one of the top pockets and not in the leg pocket, because while transitioning from sit to headown the zipper managed to get loose and his pant leg flew off. His face looked great on video. Tee
homer 0 #10 March 12, 2002 I haven't lost anything YET, but I did have my watch band break so the watch kept bouncing round in the arm of my jump suit.Bite Me
Sebazz1 2 #11 March 12, 2002 I forgot to buckle my frap hat four weeks ago. Pro dyter in the hat and the frap hat came off in freefall. Saw it too. That hat had sentimental value. had it since I started jumping.................One of these days i'll take a walk around and see if it's lying out in a field or in bush somewhere............Sebazz............ skybytch 273 #17 March 13, 2002 I lost my favorite winter hat on a tandem. It was shockingly pink, fur lined, looked like one of those Russian hats. Didn't get the buckle on tight enough and watched it fly right off my head. Was kinda funny... I actually thought about reaching up and trying to catch it as it flew away...pull and flare,lisa--I'll be in the bar... you'll find me...

Someone told me one of them had lost his wallet with all his cash, airline tickets, and his passport. Everyday for a week they were out there looking....never did find it! Gemini... Fear? nacmacfeegle 0 #22 March 13, 2002 Derro Thomas---Mr Javelin, almost lost his camera helmet on a British 100 way record attempt back in 99. Caught it as he went out the door, flew his slot (base) with the helmet in his hand and completed the skydive in grand style.Good job Derro......also (unrelated but Derro was there again), see attached from World Team 99 in Thailand.CyaDave
FallinWoman 1 #23 March 13, 2002 Well I'll pitch in....I did static line...and no one suggested that I take off my watch....so sure enough, as I hung from the strut it broke off. There was a camera attached to the wing that snapped a pic just as I left....you can see the watch flaoting just above my wrist....just moments before it was gone forever....thankfully i didn't care about that watch!Anne
