mountainman 0 #1 March 13, 2002 I saw that you guys were talking about some Spud Guns on another thread. Check out this one that you can buy for about $3000-4000. If you had the extra cash (read: Bill Gates), it would be a nice piece of machinery.Enjoy.....http://www.spudtech.com/sp9004.htmlJumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook. LordAJ702 0 #2 March 13, 2002 the guy who built that had way too much time and money on his hands. I built a few of those out of PVC when i was in high school...they cost about 30 bucks and about a hour to build...heheh
SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 March 13, 2002 Yeah, but it looks like they might actually be selling them. We build them all the time around here for next to nothing. The igniter of choice for us is the bar-b-que starter, either rotary or push-button. Gotta love them tater canons! My webpage HERE
indyz 1 #4 March 13, 2002 I'm a compressed air man, myself. Just too much trouble with explosives. My best gun is made entirely out of PVC and Tupperware with only one moving part (the Tupperware) and can easily launch a potato or apple core 300 yards with 200 psi of compressed air. My other gun uses an electrically actuated water sprinkler valve rated to 125 psi that is pretty weak on fruit and vegetable distance, but can launch a half gallon of water hard enough to knock me on my ass.Of course, as far as pneumo guns are concerned, the annual Pumpkin' Chunkin' contest in Morton, IL is where it's at. Last year's winner was Old Glory, with a toss of slightly more than 3900 feet. This was actually less than it's winning chunk in 2000, 4085 feet.--BrianHomepageAIM: suprmath
