Whats your Birth Order?
First Born
Middle
Youngest
Only
Other.....

On the AOL main page today an article on birth order was quite interesting. I am a middle child, and one note on us stuck in the middle was:
Quote

(There's some research suggesting that middle children are more likely to engage in dangerous sports, perhaps because they are used to taking risks.)

Rock Climbing, Repelling, Skydiving, I never looked at them as dangerous but others might.
SO anyone else stuck in the middle.

Big sister
twin sister
me
younger brother
My twin likes to fight karate which I think is more dangerous than skydiving, just ask anyone who has fought her they would probably prefer to jump out a plane rather than be kicked in the nads by Dolores.
older sister and younger brat (sorry I ment to type brother) are boring and don't do anything of interest.

I am first born and have a younger sister who is 17 this year november. I see my self as a pioneer and a explorer of the family undertaking things that others will not. I know my sister and younger cousins all look up to me so by showing them how much fun you can have by doing something you love is good for me since i will see the rewards in the future in the form of their success.
Who ever said comming down from a high was bad obviously never tried this.

Only children also often develop interests in activities that they can do alone

Yes and no. I'm an only child, but I still did stuff that were group orientated. Now, the individual activities far out number those...*shrug* oh-well, I think I turned out ok. :)"Give me one ping and one ping only..."

I'm the youngest (of four sisters), the one who takes the risks, the one for "dangerous" things.
Always thought I was adopted.

I"m also the youngest. My two older sisters always used to tell me I was adopted. They're both pansies...i've always been the risk taker in the family.

I'm with Kevin. I have 5 older sisters. There are 9 years between me and my next closest sister. She has been saying she wants to jump but always seems to have an excuse to put it off.
Of my kids, my middle son is the only one I don't think will ever skydive. He is definitely not a risk taker.

I am #6 out of 8. I never thought of that being the middle child. I always considered the one actually in the middle as the middle child:S...like Jan Brady. I'm not the oldest or the youngest and never considered myself in the middle...I've had no identity. Maybe I am skydiving to get attention...hmm.
Skydivers...they're just plain cool!

So I read the article on being the youngest, as I am the youngest in my family. This is one of the things they had to say.
"Having somewhat more distance in their relationship with their parents can give last-borns freedom to explore new ideas and new places."
Hmmmm, new places? Like how the world looks from 14,000 feet???

I have an older brother, and a twin brother, who came out first. So technically I'm the youngest, but it's weird to say my twin is "older" than me just because he came out 10-15 minutes before I did.
Kinda like: If you & your friend did your first skydive on the same day & on the same load, but he exited first, & from then on he says he's been skydiving longer than you.;)

Kay, this will be odd. Follow closely.
In birth family, I was 3rd of 4, and possibly a twin (although the records are not clear on that).

As for the adopted family, I was 2nd of two. (I was adopted at birth).

Oldest of 3. Then again, I have ALWAYS been the balck sheep and just HAD to do things my own way.......
Back in my college days, one of the classes I took was Child Psych... THeir take was that the Oldest was more often than not the Caregive r so to speak. Theresponsible one who was usually conservative. Middle children being the "forgotten ones" but were also the mediators. Then there were the spoiled little brats who did what they wanted whenever they wanted and always got away with it...
Make up your own ending, let me know just how you feel....
