AggieDave 6 #76 March 4, 2002 I was thinking more along the way of a 2 way race. Although we could do a couple of jumps, a race, a pro-track verified solo jump, etc."That shit's gonna kill ya if the women don't get you first..."
TheMarshMan1 0 #77 March 4, 2002 Wait a minute. What am I talking about? Skydiving in a frictionless environment might not be so cool. There wouldnt be any "air"...hmm....wonder what that would be like. I need to stop thinking I think....Life's a bitch- be its pimp....
n2skdvn 0 #78 March 4, 2002 you guys gonna try for the sound barrier???????race????pro tracks???dont let your mind wander.....its to little to be left alone......

Viking 0 #80 March 4, 2002 you would need a space suit dude. the lack of air (aka vacume) would bust your lungs like a ballon.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver
fatz 0 #81 March 4, 2002 On a new note - not that i don't like the idea of skyraces. How long did it take most of you to get your second stage of license that allows you to jump anywhere?I CAN'T WAIT
skybytch 273 #82 March 4, 2002 Hey no hijacking your own thread back to the topic!! In the US you can jump anywhere with an A license, which is around 25 jumps. Took me a couple months but that was a long time ago; the requirements have changed... a lot depends on how thick your wallet is and how good the weather is.pull and flare, lisa
fatz 0 #83 March 4, 2002 you obviously couldn't do 25 jumps in 1 week?
skybytch 273 #84 March 4, 2002 Physically, yeah, 25 jumps in a week is very possible. Financially is another story....pull and flare, lisa
AggieDave 6 #85 March 4, 2002 Not in a single weekend, atleast, well, I guess you could, but that is very very very unlikely. If you went to a DZ that was open 7 days, sure, I don't see why you couldn't do 4 jumps a day and get 28 jumps in a week."That shit's gonna kill ya if the women don't get you first..." fatz 0 #89 March 4, 2002 Don't know what it's like everywhere else, but it's only $25 a jump if you have your license..... + equipment.... but you would get all the equipment once you get your license if you are serious right?
spinmaster 0 #90 March 4, 2002 There's got to be some tandom instructors out there who've had 24 or more jumps in a week. I think I recall one of the instructors at my DZ saying he did 7 tandoms one day. A busy week and 24 should be easy.
AggieDave 6 #91 March 4, 2002 Well, around here is about $18 a jump if you have your own gear. Yeah, generally people buy their first gear right after they get their license and generally buy used gear since they'll probably biff the landings and outgrow their gear skill wise in a few hundred jumps. Some of the serious types, myself included, are slowly trying to piece together their own gear since $$ isn't as easy to come by for us. Viking 0 #92 March 4, 2002 i think three pro-trak jumps would be the way to go. We take the average speeds from all three jumps average them together and thats your speed for the contest. now would you prefer to do this in shorts and a t-shirt, or really tight jump suits? AggieDave 6 #94 March 4, 2002 I say in shorts and a t-shirt, or jeans and a sweat shirt (it's f**king cold in TX right now...). Since I don't have a tight jump suit. Would this be done BTE, in a sit, stand?"That shit's gonna kill ya if the women don't get you first..."
Viking 0 #95 March 4, 2002 ok depending on the weather. No freefly. This is a BTE speed recordI swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver
