AndyMan 7 #3 March 1, 2002 The Oxygen is more expensive but the quality is just so much better. I say skip over the Z1 and drop the extra dough for the Oxygen. You can read my review of the Z1 under the "Gear" tab. I regretted buying my Z1 from about 20 jumps._AmICQ: 5578907MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

skybytch 273 #5 March 1, 2002 Oxygn or Havok. Personally I don't like the Oxygn A3; too easy to lose your audible out of the outside mounting. The Havok is kinda fiddly, but you can mount an audible inside or two outside and it will work with glasses. I haven't jumped one so I'm not sure how good the peripheral vision is with the front flipped up. Bonehead and Skysystems both do an excellent job with customer service. The newer Z1's aren't bad but Parasport Italia customer service sucks; as long as you never have a problem with the helmet it's okay...pull and flare,lisa--What would Scooby Doo? AiRpollUtiOn 0 #6 March 1, 2002 All I can tell you about is the Z1.For me it's the most comfy of the lot.Parasport Italia isn't so good in the field of customer service, but I don't think that's necessary fo'r these helmets, they are of good quality so what do you need them for after purchase???The only problem I experienced in the beginning was an irritating noise when opening/closing the visor, but this is fixed in one minute, just adjust the visor screws, sometimes they're too tight Will jump for beer, bs AiRpollUtiOn
Albatross 0 #7 March 1, 2002 Duhh!!! Demo them at Square 2. You will never knwo which one you like best unless you try them. I got an Oxygen A3 on reputation and I love it but I know people that each helmet fits well and others that it does not. TRY THEM ALL.God bless us and God Bless AmericaAlbatross
E150 0 #8 March 1, 2002 Z1 - but if you order it from parasports be prepared to wait! Better if you can get one off the shelf at a DZ gear store.
pilotdave 0 #9 March 1, 2002 QuoteZ1 - but if you order it from parasports be prepared to wait! Better if you can get one off the shelf at a DZ gear store. SkyKat (http://www.skykat.com) had the best price i could find when I ordered mine a few months ago. I payed $249 including shipping, while most gear stores seem to sell it for $259 BEFORE shipping (or tax or whatever). No problems with them and it shipped pretty quickly.Dave

TALONSKY 0 #11 March 1, 2002 I think the Z1 is a really great helmet. Its visor is more rigid than Oxygen's and can even with stand being open in free fall. I have NEVER had any problems with mine and that includes over 100 RW and 100 free fly jumps. I think with most things in skydiving it is all personal preference so if you can try both and see which you like the best.Kirk
kmcguffee 0 #12 March 1, 2002 I have a used Oxygen. Bought it in almost new condition for $120 off of the classifieds on this site. I am completely happy with it. It is comfortable, durable, and a great helmet all around. Look for a used one. Haven't really messed with any others though.

freeflir29 0 #18 March 1, 2002 Quoteyou been here before haven't ya?!?Stationed at Fairchild for 3 years. My ex-wife is from there. I spent the summer there in 99. Well....not weekends. I drove to the house in Montana for those. Just to get out of the dump. The women are easy, the hunting sucks(if you have to hunt public land), I snowboarded my ass off everywhere from Canada to Idaho. Went down the Snake and Salmon in a raft for 4 days. Some decent fishing around there I guess. None of it comes close to Montana though. Except the women....no women most places in Montana. Missoula is the exception....Too many damn people in Spokane...."I only have a C license, so I don't know shit..right?"-Clay

Spectrejumper 0 #20 March 2, 2002 Quote,, and I have a,, a big "head" otay no referance to the other thread about that one Clay...,, need an XXL and haven't seen any of those on any of the used gear sites,,Unless Skysystems finally wised up, they don't make the Oxygn in XXL. Some bogus XL.5 or somethin. I ended up getting a Factory Diver. The Z1 also will not fit if you truly need a XXL. I had to send mine back, then wait forever for my Factory Diver. It doesn't have the flip up visor, so I took out the lens and I just wear goggles under the helmet. I've found Sorz goggles work the best for doing this. The big plus of the whole deal is that the Factory Diver is a lot cheaper. Good luck finding a brain bucket. Mike D-23312"It's such a shame to spend your time away like this...existing." Iflyme 0 #22 March 2, 2002 Billy, if ya can't get the right fit, try this: get one of those big' old clamato juice cans, cut the top off, bash it around with a hammer for a while, then finish it off with the handyman's helper -- duct tape! (can ya paint over that stuff???),At least ya'd be easy to find in Kamloops!
