wndrer73 0 #26 February 26, 2002 "I think that is just depends on how you feel!! You are the onlyone to who knows your limits!! "See that's what I was getting at actually.... *HOW* do I know what my limits are, after just one jump? After coming down after L-1, I was too psyched up to think clearly! And yeah, I wanted to go again, and probably would have if I didn't have other things to do... but is it good to be pumped up on adrenalin and say "YEEEAAAHHHH LETS DO THAT AGAIN!!!!" <--- like the donkey in "Shrek"!! ;)Shrek: "No... no, no no no no"Or should I let myself calm down and make a decision after that?Okay, none of you know me so I know you can't really answer that.. but I was just wondering..... bbarnhouse 0 #27 February 26, 2002 My very first experience was in Miami with a friend of mine, he being an accomplished freeflyer. I decided to go tandem with this nice fellow, but was extremely nervous. My friend received permission to ehemmmm sit fly around us in freefall and take photos. Well guess what? My eyes were closed the entire freefall..Hell I was scared to pieces! once the canopy opened though my oh my what a sight to behold. As soon as I got to the ground I manifested again since technically the first one didn't count! I've been skydiving ever since. I have wanted to skydive since I was 15, it just took me a lot of years to be in a place to actually fulfill that dream. Congradulations and I hope someday we can all grace the skies together.....Blue skies and safe landings. It only takes a little pixie dust......
Cornholio 0 #28 February 26, 2002 OK - I have to say something...I am the "friend" that Ishaan is referring to. I also did my pre-second AFF L1 jump yesterday. There are not enough words to describe the feelings that I have been going through - both before the jump and after. I must tell you though, that those feelings pretty much did a 180. Most of the fear was replaced with faith and adrenaline as soon as I stepped out that door and into blue skies. Faith that I had in myself to do what I was taught to do, in the right order; and adrenaline - no need to explain that one. I'm sure there's more, but I have a lot of reading to do on this site. - Matt

PhillyKev 0 #32 February 26, 2002 As long as you think you're ready, and so does your jm, go for another jump. The learning curve is greatly increased by doing multiple jumps in a day. You have the opportunity to work on things you learned on the last jump while they're still fresh.cielos azules y cerveza fría-Kevin
KDK 0 #33 February 26, 2002 After I did my L-3 and L-4 jumps I knew that I was done for the day. I knew this because in my mind there were things that I needed time to improve on!! I wanted to give myself ample time to visualize and really get into these last dives~really know the dive flow. I also wanted to visualize my dives 3 & 4 and see what I could have done to make them better. For me, being centered and always focused on my next task is very important and if I am not there mentally, I am not there!! I am sure everyone has their way of "knowing their limits"!! This is it for me!! Happy Flying!! Katie
lummy 4 #34 February 26, 2002 QuoteDid ya get it on video, my palms still sweat when I watch the first one,, Highly Recommended!!!! My first Tandem was out of a Skyvan and everytime I watch the video I almost feel like I am actually about to go out!!! Sends shivers down my spine ;)QuoteThe learning curve is greatly increased by doing multiple jumps in a daySecond this as well. AS long as you and JM feel you are ready to do it. for me, I always did better on the subseqwuent jumps after I got the pre jump jitters out of the wayQuotelike Clay who has ta sneek up on Montana and Lost PrairieClay in Lost Prairie? Should we warn the locals to lock up their livestock now?Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....
Cornholio 0 #35 February 26, 2002 I didn't get this one on video, but I would like to get the subsequent ones on video. I hear they are cheaper on the following jumps past #1. Yeah, I still watch my first tandem jump and get some butterflies as I head out the door. I think it would be best to do levels 2 and 3 together. That way, 2 is a practice jump while 3 is supposed to be one of the hardest. If I can do 2, knock out any errors for 3 - then that would be great. I think Ishaan and I are planning on jumping again in a couple weeks. Having someone I know there with me is a comforting feeling, besides having someone to hang out with while we are waiting. Last weekend, I brought another one of my friends (she didn't jump) and my dog. - Matt

wndrer73 0 #37 February 27, 2002 Yeah, I've got all 3 jumps on video... A few people have said i'm nuts to be spending that much money, but i figure, if I'm having the time of my life, I want it captured on video -- it's worth any amount of $$$!!! I actually have a "2nd copy" of my 2 tandems + Matt's tandem jump + another friend's tandem jump (who was in same flight as me on my 2nd time) + my AFF-1 jump all on the same videotape, and that will be added to!!! I dunno how many tens of times i must have seen that tape of everybody's jumps -- every time I see it i wanna go again! Hell, even when i DONT see it I still wanna go again!I wanna go again.I wanna keep going... again... and again... and again.... and again.... and again-n-again... as they say, "skydiving is good to the last drop!" I'm ALREADY thinking about what I want to do on my 100th jump!
lummy 4 #38 February 27, 2002 Heheehehee...It is also really good for training purposes too. Like when you start spinning anf don't know why, you can just pop it in and say look!!Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....
