JDBoston 0 #2 February 19, 2002 I find that the amount of exercise I get affects my energy level a lot more than my diet. If you don't work out a lot, no time like the present! It'll make you feel much better and more energetic.Joe
freeflir29 0 #3 February 19, 2002 You can smoke Meth....you'll have lots of energy for the first week or so...than you'll probably die...."I only have 133 jumps, so I don't know shit..right?"-Clay

MarkM 0 #5 February 19, 2002 See a doctor, they'll make sure it's nothing other than your diet and can refer you to a specialist who can suit your diet to your needs.
skymama 37 #6 February 19, 2002 I agree, see a doctor. Fatigue is a symptom of many illnesses. Don't just assume it is your diet.AndreaThe brave may not live forever, but the timid may not live at all.
skycat 0 #7 February 19, 2002 Yep TG is right, since you are a small chick like us you could be anemic. I was last summer, went to the Dr, he gave me some horse pill vitamins and put me on an iron regimin. This is especially important since you are going to have surgery soon. AggieDave 6 #8 February 19, 2002 With out knowing you my first reaction is that you don't eat enough. For healthy living you really need to eat 5-6 times a day with certain balances of carbs, protein, fat, etc. Also, if you cut back/out caffine you'll be better off. Remember if you start riding, you need fuel, food is your fuel, you must eat more to make up for what your burning. Even if you're trying to loose weight, if you don't eat enough, you body will sort of go into a starvation mode, and you won't loose, or you will over time, but it will be muscle, so you'll end up looking like one of those nasty stick figure models...Go here for some good advice: http://www.healthcentral.com"I said don't look Ethel, It was too late, she'd already been incensed... Zennie 0 #9 February 19, 2002 A few things that I've noticed that impact my energey level...1. Exercise. When I'm not exercising I feel mentally & physically sluggish.2. Take vitamins. 3. Eat some protein. I used to be a pretty strict vegetarian. Then a doctor friend told me how he hates operating on vegetarians because their muscles tear so easily when putting in sutures. So I added some fish every now and then to my diet. Guess what? My energy improved. The more I think about it the more convinced I am that humans are not built to be strict vegetarians. We are omnivores, like bears. Those fangs in your mouth are there for a reason.I still try to eat healthy, which is I think about 75% vegetarian and 25% animal protein (usually fish for me, but sometimes I'll help myself to fajitas ).So the basics are: eat a healthy balanced diet, get some exercise & maybe take supplemental vitamins."Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense." freebird 0 #10 February 19, 2002 Thanks for the advice. Im having surgery soon . I love fish. I have no desire to eat, but I will try those little tuna and cracker snacks and sushi. I really love sushi. I need something. All I want to do is sleep lately. The longer you wait ........the more sense you get.
skycat 0 #11 February 19, 2002 Hey girl here are some things I did when I used to have trouble eating:1) Avoid eating alone, company always makes the stomach happier.2) As long as the other person is eating force yourself to keep eating. You would be surprised how well this works, as long as they are stuffing things in thier mouth, you will be doing it too.3) Eat often, since I wasn't eating much at meals I made sure to have my favorite snack food such as crackers, pretzels, tortilla chips, whatever always on hand, or in my desk so I could snack all day long. Bascially I have tons of microwave finger food in my freezer, cause I know when I get hungry I have to eat NOW, or I won't be hungry in 15 min.4) Drink lots of water, dehydration can easily set in if you aren't eating/drinking enough.5) Relax, sometime putting the stress on yourself to eat will actually make it worse. I always told myself it's ok if I don't want to eat now, just have a few chips or something 6) Exercise, even if it is just taking a walk before dinner, it will definately help the appitite.7) Talk to your Dr. there may be another problem that needs to be addressed before the surgery.Kelli
msdeva 0 #12 February 19, 2002 I'm a strict vegetarian... do have to be very careful about making sure you eat a balanced diet... I eat lots of walnuts instead of fish for and lots of leafy greens to get my iron - and take a multivitamin designed for vegetarians.Anemia runs in my family - so I make sure to monitor my iron level as lack of it definitely affects my energy level (and cirlces under the eyes!)Exercise also very important - as everyone else says - there is a direct relationship between the amount of exercise I get and my energy level.Fruit and green tea in the morning instead of coffee has really helped me.The best way to predict the future is to invent it. ADRNALN 0 #14 February 19, 2002 Zennie - thtas funny. My best friend was a strict vegan until he moved to the midwest. After living here for a couple of years he was back to a "normal" diet, but still swears off milk. And said the same things you did about energy and fight off colds etc.

TEB6363 0 #23 February 20, 2002 You need to pick a direction that you want to go too be happy and go there. Is something making you not hungry? Is the lack of sex hurting the relationship, or from the relationship? Is the surgery going to fix the eating thing and get you back to skydiving?Pick out where you want to go and what you want to do and then go there!!!:::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, ..
