Muenkel 0 #1 February 15, 2002 Doesn't it just piss you off, that the Olympic athletes can train all their lives for one moment, sponsors can spend billions on advertising, cities and countries spend billions building venues and a couple of judges sitting on their fat asses can ruin it for everyone? I didn't see this competition, but what I have seen on the news and heard from others, it was clearly obvious that the Canadians won this thing. This totally pisses me off!"I am a victim of my environment."Chris

AndyMan 7 #5 February 15, 2002 As a Canadian living in the States, I am truely impressed by the amount of American and international support there is for Sale/Pelletier.Sadly, I didn't see the performance. My gut reaction once I started hearing the stories was that Canada was wining about loosing, then the stories started to pick up with intensity. Then in made the front page of the Chicago Tribune and NY Times.Hopefully Skating will improve from the controversy. Hell - hopefully all "judged" sports will improve from the controvery._AmICQ: 5578907MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
SkyDekker 1,465 #6 February 15, 2002 I did see the performance, it was very obvious that the canadians should have won gold. kingbunky 3 #7 February 15, 2002 i find that any sport/event that is artistic in nature is open to this kind of contorversy, the results are all in someone's interpretation. if you can't measure something to determine a winner, someone will always complain. i didn't see the event either, but for a country that doesn't win 100 golds every olympics, one here and there adds up. that said, i think the competitors in these kind of sports are used to getting screwed over on occasion. it's a shame all the same though."Jumping out of planes for the thrill of it all."-J.Geils Band
Remster 30 #8 February 15, 2002 Andy,I saw both the Russion and Canadian long program performance live (I was stuck in a hotel room with Eurosport and couldnt sleep.... really, I was)...being Canadian, I'll come off sounding biased, but it was a complete farce... The russian man triped twice very visibly and had another so so landind that was obvious on slow motion. The canadians had a flawless routine. The only negative of the Canadian's routine was the lack of cleavage shown by Sale ... yet another English speaking canadian putting a poor unsuspecting Quebequois under some sort of sexual charm... lolRemsterMuff
christopherm 0 #9 February 15, 2002 All this was folks was a couple of Russians still pissed off about losing the cold war and a swindeling Frenchman that will go to anything to get the gold for his countries competitors. Has anyone really ever understood the French anyway? If you think you do, let me know. So, how hard is the ground?!
AggieDave 6 #10 February 15, 2002 The French are real easy to understand. They talk shit about everyone except themselves and when ever confronted with a real problem/authority/threat they cave as quick as they can..."Alright, at 4500 lets break it, turn 360 and track away..."
