AggieDave 6 #3 February 11, 2002 That was fun, even though the range we went to sucked. Oh-well. She did well with a Glock 17 (full-sized 9mm) for never have shot before. Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

AggieDave 6 #7 February 11, 2002 Yeah, IPSC...I think I'll stick with the IDPC and use a *real* gun. j/k Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
skymedic 0 #8 February 11, 2002 I shoot an H&K USP 40 with ambi saftey's for my IDPC gun....I like IPSC cause I love to hose shit...nothing like going to the firing range and blasing off 7+ shots a second and putting them all in the 10 ring.....pisses range officers off a ton!!!....point holo site and PULL.....HAHAHAHA.....I like steel challenge too...true pinging....marc"...a mind stretched with new idea's will never regain its shape"
AggieDave 6 #9 February 11, 2002 Yeah, I really like the H&K USP series, a H&K USP 45 Compact is my next carry gun, great gun. Although, from my experience, the Glock and the H&Ks shoot almost the same, but the Glocks seem to be more reliable (just barely and even then, they're both *really* reliable). (btw I've put around 5,000 rds through that G17 with only one mal, that was my fault, limp wristing the hell out of it screwing around)I love steel ranges, much fun. Great for doing shot combos, i.e. 2 to the body, 1 to the head, etc. Got to spend a good deal of time on one this summer. Ever do any tactical pistol courses? I've only been able to do one (Texas Pistol Academy) and am totally itching to do another...Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most. Zennie 0 #11 February 11, 2002 I'm thinking of getting rid of my old Taurus 9mm and upgrading to a Glock .40 or a .45. Only thing is the cost of the ammo. Would I be better off sticking with 9mm or can you get .40/.45 rounds fairly cheap for target practice?"Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense." AggieDave 6 #12 February 11, 2002 You can do it cheaply, just take up reloading as a hobby too. Which Glocks (the models)?Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
skymedic 0 #13 February 11, 2002 I would also throw in a serious suggestion of the "new"er .357 auto...or 357 sig....ammo...great stuff...fast muzzle velocity low kick backmarc"...a mind stretched with new idea's will never regain its shape"
sangiro 26 #14 February 11, 2002 Zennie - being from Africa and all I'm required to be armed at all times in case a war breaks out or there's a coup. This happens about once a week. I have a Glock .22, amongst others. That's the standard (not compact) .40. Definitely a pleasure to shoot and I have to agree with AggieDave they are reliable as hell. Neat thing about the Glock is the firing mechanism. There's a small mod that can turn it into a full automatic, like the Glock 18. I don't think you're allowed to do that in the States though..... hehehehe! Also, readily available is the 31-round magazine (or 34-round with the "plus" floorplate attached). If you can't solve your problem in the middle of the night with that, then you probably don't want to solve it. I'm going to butt now never to speak about guns again before people think I'm a nut. QuickDraw 0 #15 February 11, 2002 Can civilians go to range,s without pre-booking over there ?I would love to shoot some hand gun,s as over here gun,s are not common place, and are regulated to f**k.I went to Thailand some years ago but did'nt have the time to visit a range over there (truth be told ,it was a g/f that did'nt want me to do it)Anyway i know Texas has a gun-culture, but what about Florida ? any idea,s ? mikefarmer 0 #17 February 11, 2002 I've got a Glock 23C that shoots like a dream. I probably would leave off the comp next time, though. It also handles .357 Sig quite nicely with my Bar-Sto drop-in barrel!Missy the 225 lb. Meat Missile Sky World

freefallfreak 0 #23 February 11, 2002 Quickdraw,Quotebut as a civilian can i go to a range and try gun,s ie. pay $50 and shoot a variety ?Yeah, guy..I don't know the cost down in Fla. but in Ga I go to a place called the Pit Stop and can rent anything they have for as long as I want...I guess it depends on the range when you talk about price, tho. You have to buy their ammo so it can get kinda' expensive but overall, you can shoot anything they have.TripleF BOOBIES, BOOBIES, BOOBIES, BOOBIES...(Whoops, I said it again...Tee-hee...) skymedic 0 #24 February 11, 2002 None really other than that you are over the age of 21 with ID.....we have a place here in Orlando that you can rent a selection of Full auto guns....REALLY FUN.....but expensive...like 30 bucks for an Uzi with 30 rnds....go's by fast...but you get one shit eating grin on your face afterwards....but still not as fun as IPSC......marc"...a mind stretched with new idea's will never regain its shape"
SkymonkeyONE 4 #25 February 11, 2002 QuickDraw,we do not have to do any booking at most places here in the states unless they are just really busy. There are gun ranges all over Florida, especially towards the middle of the state out in the country. We rednecks really do love our guns!I used to have a bunch of guns, but now just own four.
