mountainman 0 #1 February 4, 2002 Hey all. I am hoping some of you can help me out here. My wife and I are headed to Skydive Space Center in less than two weeks and their website is down. I was hoping to get some information on there and stuff and be able to see some pictures and such. Now, I have called them and reserved a team room for us to stay in since it is cheap and Key West and the cruise is killing the money. So, since we need money to jump (6.5 days of it), I figured it would make it a touch cheaper. Can you just give me some of the information about it that you have found? I know it is like $18 to 15,000', Grand Caravan, big landing area (see attached), but that is about it. Can someone point out which part of the airport the DZ is? And any other info you have would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
Muenkel 0 #2 February 4, 2002 Hey,I did both my tandem jumps at SSC and will be there in May for 2 weeks for my AFF. The hangar for SSC is in the lower right corner of your picture. Most of the skydivers land in the area between the runway and the hangar. There is plenty of open space. I don't know why their website is down, but you can email them at skydivespacecenter@hotmail.com."I am a victim of my environment."Chris

skymama 37 #4 February 4, 2002 Hey, when you're looking at the picture...see the area on the runway where the numbers are? That's where I had my accident on the runway! As far as the dz goes, I did all of my student training there, but it is under new management since I was there last, so it's not really fair for me to comment on it. cvandam 0 #6 February 4, 2002 Skydive Space Center is my home dz. You'll find a very friendly environment..... both staff and "regulars". We are currently jumping from 15,000 feet (Grand Caravan and C-207). In the near future we'll have a new King Air that will be taking us to 18,000!!!! We're wayyyy excited about it!!The "team house" (where I believe you'll be staying) is an actual house just down the block from the dz...much nicer than many dz "bunkhouses". The team rooms in the hangar have a different use.Jumpers with over 500 jumps are allowed to land between the runway and hangar. Those of us with less than 500 land on the West side of the runway and there's plenty of room.Think you'll be very pleased with our dz!!!!
mountainman 0 #7 February 4, 2002 Thank you for all the info! Yeah, I talked to someone on the phone (a woman) and she said that we would be staying at a house down the road....not in a corner of the hanger. Hehehe...Sounds like a great time and a great place. I am a bit relieved to be jumping at Space Center instead of Sebastian just because it will be less busy. Since I'm still learning on my canopy, I like to have my room. We'll be down there on the 16th in the evening to do 2 jumps or so, and then we'll be jumping ALL DAY the 17th and 18th. Also, hopefully a jump or 2 on the 19th before we head off to Key West.Blue skies all!JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
