Skyrose7 0 #1 January 26, 2002 I find it fun to egg on my whuffo friends. Last night, we were all drinking, and I had just gotten my new jumpsuit, so I was excited. We (I) were (was) talking about skydiving, and it lead to the fact that they feel I am obsessed w/skydiving. So, I went and put on all my rig and came back and watched the movie through my goggles. They were in shock. Then, when people went outside to smoke, I sat next to the door and when it opened, I yelled "Door!", looked for the spot and jumped from the "plane." I proceeded to lay belly to ground and perform various manuevers, all while monitering my altitude and drinking my corona. My roomates and friends actually told me at one point to stop because I was scaring them. It was the greatest. The look on their faces when they thought I bit the psycho pill...or maybe I did....am I alone in this game???

QuickDraw 0 #5 January 26, 2002 even though i have'nt done my AFF yet...last night i was boring the shit out of one of my m8,squoting stuff off of here "dropzone this...dropzone that"i was even lurking an automatic road barrier (which comes up to stop un-authorized cars passing) jump on check canopy fall off (drunk)i just can't seem to stop myself at the minute...is this how it all starts? Aviatrr 0 #6 January 26, 2002 Quote i just can't seem to stop myself at the minute...is this how it all starts? Yep, that's how it starts....then the next step is your friends give you an "intervention".....then the nice people bring you a cool white jacket where the arms tie in the front......then they take you to this really cool place, where the rooms are padded so you can't hurt yourself during your drunken escapades, and they shoot you up with all kinds of good drugs.....mmmmmmmmm...sedatives....Mike

FallingMarc 0 #11 January 26, 2002 I can't say that I've done that... thought about it, but I don't trust a bunch of drunk whuffos around my rig that much... "Hey, what's this do? *yank*" "Oh, that's just my reserve handle... no big deal... only 40 bucks to put that pilot chute back in now..."All my friends agree that I'm obsessed though. I just don't see that as such a bad thing. Do any of them have something in their life that they love this much? Not many...M
lummy 4 #12 January 26, 2002 Hmm.. Never went that far. I do have a habit of "SPOTTING" while riding BART, or Launching solos out of the elevator or making stick figure freeflyers out of wire ties and post it notes (post it for the rig).Altho coworkers have had to drag me away from the windows when I got that "LOOK".34 floors is what? 450-500 ft? I WAS 5,500 FT UP AND WAS STILL STANDING ON THE GROUND! HOW DEPRESSING IS THAT?!THE FUNNEST THING WAS WHEN I FIRST GOT HERE I SAW THIS STEEP HILL SO I GOT A RUNNING START AND RAN OFF. MY FREIND SWERE LIKE WHERE ARE YOU GOING I TOLD THEM FOR A MINI SKYDIVE(I GUESS MORE LKIKE A MINI BASE JUMP) SO I RAN AS FAST AS I COULD AND DOVE OFF THE HILL AND TRIED TO FLIP. I ALMOST GOT 1 AND 1/2 BUT I HADDA ROLL OUT OF IT. IT WAS ALL GOOD BUT WHEN I ROLLED I ROLLED ONTO A BIG ROCK. MY RIB WAS BRUISED FOR A FEW DAYS. BUT SURPRISINGLY MY EGO WASN'T HAHAHA!!I THINK MOST OF THE WHUFFOS I WORK WITH KNOW MORE ABOUT SKYDIVIING THEN THEY EVER CARED TOHave fun, LIVE FREE, SkydiveJT

jtval 0 #24 January 26, 2002 trust me, i already have(with a snowboard)! siimilar outcome. but not bad for my third time EVER, at the slopes. these slopes are weak. the doulbe black diamond is not too steep or complicated. i was on em on my second trip there. i triedto do a 180 jump/spin.but there wasn't much of a ramp/hill do give me an edge n the stunt.that was the first time i actuallly stopped to regain myself after falling. just long enough to say "that didnt work" loud enough for the koreans next to me to wonder wtf i just said!i also had a simliar thing happen when i was climbing yesterday. masybe i should stay home but what fun would that be?Have fun, LIVE FREE, SkydiveJT
