billvon 3,070 #1 January 30, 2002 Well, it finally aired - our MTV episode. Our demo team went down to Cabo San Lucas this fall to film an episode of the "Road Rules vs Real World" competition. Our part in it was that we took all the contestants in to the competition on tandems. Now, a pessimist might say that we sweated our butts off, and put up with some very annoying people, for very little air time - I was on for all of five seconds. An optimist would note that we got paid a lot of money to skydive onto a beach in Mexico with a bunch of TV stars. I'll let you guess which category I fall into.-bill von

TheMarshMan1 0 #5 January 30, 2002 Eh, dont worry...MTV likes to air things over and over and over and over and....well....you get the point
diver123 0 #6 January 30, 2002 I saw the footage... Which one were you? Honestly, and it may just be my retardation, it sure looked like those tandem instructors were trying to swoop the tandem canopies...! Well, as much as you can swoop a 350 square foot anything anyways... "pull high! It's lower than you think..."
Vallerina 2 #7 January 30, 2002 I saw it! With all the work you did for them, I expected a huge production from it. However, it looked like a beautiful place (pre-hurricane) to jump, and hopefully it was worth it, with or without tons of MTV exposure. billvon 3,070 #9 January 30, 2002 >I saw the footage... Which one were you? No freefall footage. I was walking the group to the plane, and sitting next to Emily just before exit. Oh well. At least Joe Mama got on lots of video, and all that footage was either from Steve or Dave's cameras. As always with events like this, it's strange to see weeks of preparation, ten straight hours of groundwork, lots of skydiving, dealing with local bureacracies, six inch thick piles of paperwork, almost a ton of gear, and two turbines from the US reduced to a two minute splash of video.-bill von
