flyhi 24 #6 January 17, 2002 QuoteYou mean there is a difference. Yeah, the difference is like night and a different part of the night. Actually jumped Moss Point once and I had a great time. Very friendly people and very convenient. Hard not to have a good time anywhere on the Gulf Coast during Mardi Gras. Most places you will feel under-dressed if you leave the house with less than a six-pack. Enjoy! Is it hot in here, or am I crazy? - Charles Mansonflyhi

SpeedRacer 1 #18 January 18, 2002 warning; don't drive a car w/ an out of state license in Louisiana.Louisiana cops get a cut of whatever they can confiscate. So if you're driving an out of state car, you're a much more likely target (harder for you to get back there & contest it in court). So people from out of state are getting pulled over for some bullshit like "Improper lane change" or something, and then it's: Oh look at this bag of drugs that we "found" in your car! Guess we have to confiscate your car now!Hasn't happened to me, but there was a documentary about it on TV. When confronted the cops basically said, "OH well these are very serious accusations, and we'll, uh, look into it!"Speed Racer"My God! It's full of stars!" prost 0 #19 January 18, 2002 I can tell you for cetain that this is not true. I am from this area and even know some Lousiana cops. Also I drive through there all the time with out of state plates and have never heard of anyone having a problem.William
SpeedRacer 1 #20 January 18, 2002 OK maybe things have changed. I admit I saw this Dateline documentary in 1997 or 1998. Maybe there was enough of a public outcry that they've cleaned up their act.------------------Oh, by the way, I BELIEVE this is post number 1000 for me!!Speed Racer"My God! It's full of stars!" freeflir29 0 #21 January 18, 2002 "I saw this Dateline documentary in 1997 or 1998"Yeah...I know what your talkin about. The FBI went in and prosecuted and gutted the NOPD almost out of existance. I'm sure it's a much more corruption free place now. By Louisianna standards corruption is normal. Let's look at the history of the state......."I got some beers....Let's Drink em!!!"Clay
