AggieDave 6 #132 January 17, 2002 No matter where you go, there will always be shitty places. From the US, to Canada, from Austrialia to Germany, etc. *shrug* I usually worry more about the people and how they act/how friendly they are, etc. That's why I love the south and especially Texas. It's a whole nother world, generally friendly people, etc. Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.-General George Patton-

justinbuss 0 #134 January 17, 2002 There are only four Afrikaans words a skydiver needs to know: fok, trek, lekker and bier (fuck, pull, **** and beer - lekker is a catch-all that is way more meaningful than 'cool').Use these words with the right body language and facial expression and you can get just about all your desires fulfiled.fok Afrikaans is lekkerHis eyes seem so glazed As he flies on the wings of a dream

Dutchboy 0 #137 January 17, 2002 Quote Do you speak Afrikaans at all?The Dutchboy can understand some of it, given that it seems to be halfway between Dutch and English. This makes life fun when you work with South Africans who don't realize you understand what they are saying. I also enjoy listening to Chinese people talk about me at restaraunts. As I'm leaving I will ask them a question in Chinese, just to see the expression when they realize I knew what they were saying the whole time. justinbuss 0 #138 January 17, 2002 It was directed at you, but you took it wrong. Sorry if I caused offense. Just that normally when ppl refer to sheep they imply certain things, and I was just saying that I had seen a lot worse than Oudshoorn ... that's all.His eyes seem so glazed As he flies on the wings of a dream
