Ducky 0 #1 January 15, 2002 Woohoo!!! Finally, I did my AFF level 6 & 7 yesterday at ASC with Hans Paulsen. Wow, talk about fun jumps!6 was not as pretty as I would have liked but it made the grade. Level 7 was a blast, there was no time for the suprise Hans had planned (he was gonna flip me at about 7,000ft without warning) luckily he didn't get to me in time, but told me after landing of his plans. I still am having trouble with my landings and timing my flare, but a few grass stains won't hurt. I guess the green will match the bottles of the BEER I owe :)I just wanted to thank the folks here at DZ.com, you have been a tremendous help, with your knowledge and enthusiasm. I hope to see you all in the sky someday!Kwak!!!p.s. I threw in a pic from my level 5 for the heck of it. Can ya tell Jack is struggling to slow down and stay with my feather-weight ass?!? MiataDRM 0 #4 January 15, 2002 Congrats brother. Keep playing w/ the canopy; you'll figure out when to flare. If all else fails, ask someone to put u on radio to tell u when to flare or have someone tape your landing. Most of my friends would do that for free for anyone at our DZ. Be safe & have fun**I'm a Pschydiver!Majdi

JMC 0 #14 January 15, 2002 Congrats!I bet you thought AFF was expensive. Now you got to save for a rig.
SpeedRacer 1 #15 January 15, 2002 Speaking of which, I've got one for sale. An excellent rig for beginners. The rig is a Javelin, the main is a PD-170 with F-111 fabric. It probably has a little over 300 jumps on it but it's been well taken care of (nearly always packed indoors) & shows no sign of age. It's a VERY stable parachute. Even if you get line twists it'll stay upright & steady as a rock. Can't really swoop much with it, but when you're starting out, you don't want your landings to be too, uh, INTERESTING, if you know what I mean.It comes with a Cypres. I had its last 4 year maintenance done in April 2001, so you won't have to worry about that for a few years. In summer 2000 I had a new BOC pouch put on, it's nice & tight so you don't have to worry about the pilot chute sliding out. Anyway let me know if you're interested. twbrann@yahoo.comSpeed Racer"My God! It's full of stars!"

Ducky 0 #17 January 16, 2002 Thanx Everyone! Yeah saving for a rig :( I have 2 major purchases to make very soon, that and a new camera. I really wanna do the rig first but the camera will provide some more income and make the rig more affordable. So rentals it is for now. Unless of course I could find someone to barter with, anyone in GA need work done to their house for cash or gear?? Nice thought at least.
PhreeZone 20 #18 January 16, 2002 Congrats on the graduaton.... and on the rig, before you buy it... think "Would the Canopy Nazi's approve of this choice or not?" I want to touch the sky, I want to fly so high ~ Sonique

MiataDRM 0 #20 January 16, 2002 Before the flamming wars start, I thought I'd give u a chane to clarify something :-) Wn u are talking about buying a camera, please tell me u are not talking about "flying" camera! If so, do yourself (& those around u) a favor & wait until u have around 200 jumps. Make sure to talk to experienced camera flyers & read up on the camera forum section. For now, conentrate of piecing your rig together. Have fun & stay safe. Just my .02 worth!**I'm a Pschydiver!Majdi
