Mickey Rourke - WTF?????

Recommended Posts

The wages (taxes especiualy), the weather, and the fact that there is NO free space (on groundlevel as well as in the sky) makes it kind of hard to live in Holland.
Because of dense air-traffic above Holland, a lot of Dutch DZ's have a lot of holdings when it comes to getting some decent hight. On the bright side, you won't find many countries that are only 200 by 300 km's, and have a grand total of 10 to 15 different dropzones. I have one DZ located 15 minutes from my home, one at an hours drive, and three at 1,5 hours drive, and the rest is also within 3 hours of reach...
But what good are that many DZ's when the weather is sucky most of the time (actualy, when I'm typing this, the weather is incredible, finaly, but I'm out of jumpmoney for this month..AAAAAHHHH)
Then comes the money....I make good money (doing 3D animation/compositing and video-editing) but you can lose 1/3 to (in some extremes) 1/2 of it on taxes here....which sucks...
And the thing that bugs me most is how crowded Holland is.
If there is a patch of land with 6 trees on it they call it a forrest, and in summer, there will be 100 ppl on that patch of land, celebrating their holiday...
I NEED SOME ROOM TO LIVE, BREATH AND RELAX!!
Next to that there is no real nature here...no big forrest/mountains (there are a few hills of about 200 mtr's...those are the Dutch mountains:) or other beautifull nature places to go and relax...
In one or two year me and my girl hope to move to either the US (CA) or Australia (hoping to get a decent job in the animation/broadcast industry)
Hows the (jumping)weather in San Fransisco?
And are there any DZ's near ???
Anyways...Holland is nice...but it's not for me...

Boy, am I glad Texel isn't one of them! The Caravan usually goes to 13,000 ft. and the Let even takes you to 14 grand :)

Right on! I too intend to move to CAB| I've never been to San Francisco, but I read that the climate in northern CA is mild; not particularly wet and cold, but not very warm either.
[shameless plug]
If you want great jumping weather, try southern CA. Ever since having been to Perris, I've been dying to get my ass back there!

Now if only somebody would get me a job in that area... ;)
