Heart Attack i guess.....or Ol age maybe....

He wasn't that old, only 69.
He did have quadruple bypass surgery a few years back and a blurb on MSNBC said he had been on kidney dialysis since December. So my guess is renal failure.

Why is it sad when a super rich 69 year old founder of a fast food franchise dies?

Because he was one of the few corporate execs that I actually admired. He was adopted as a child and heavily involved in adoption charities. He never seemed to take himself too seriously and made it to where he was with only a high school diploma. I've seen a few interviews and he always struck me as humble and good natured.
Definitely a breath of fresh air from the narcissistic, overpaid Harvard MBA brats that seem to permeate todays' corporate America. About all they know how to do is "restructure" (i.e. lay off the unwashed heathens) and give themselves multimillion dollar bonuses.

Who's with me on having a big bowl of Wendy's chili and a couple of Heineken's Friday night so we can properly salute the passing of two giants this week...and probably Saturday morning at altitude.

Man, and I though I was cynical. ;)
Actually, after Dave had his big quadruple bypass (wonder why he needed that ;)), Wendy's started to push "healthier" (relatively speaking) menu items... salads, spuds, grilled instead of fried chicken. Pretty successful too. I know a lot of people who live on their grilled chicken ceasar salads.

Speaking of that Ronald MacDonald clown, they've been collecting money for his "house" for years now. Just how big of a house does that clown NEED anyway?? [I admit it, I ripped off someone's bit]
Dave T did die of liver cancer. One press report described him as "slightly overweight". Hello? And I just a like a sip of beer every now and then!
