flyingferret 0 #1 January 7, 2002 Hey Everyone,Especially those who remember me bitching about the job market, I got a job!!! And guess who recommended me...a fellow skydiver. I had already applied, but not heard anything, I then I found out a guy that I jump with works there. It did not click at the time. After I sent him my resume, I was like hey I have heard that company name before. Well within 36 hours they wanted a phone interview, within a week two personal interviews, within 10 days (and yes the day before graduation) I was hired. Anyway, skydivers rock Malachi
AggieDave 6 #2 January 8, 2002 How was your first day? How was the commute in your new car? Did you BASE off the top of the building yet? Shit, I'll just call ya later man! AND before I go back to CS this week I want to drop by and see your office, if possible.I got Keith to do a tandem jump yesterday, nice jump, only 8 ppl in the Otter at SDD and oh god the Beer farts, even Duran commented on it...I went to a Grateful Dead Concert and they played for SEVEN hours. Great song. -- Fred Reuss

Who knows, I'll let you know when everything is confirmed. I don't know how much liberty I'll recieve during that time and I'm not sure if I'll have the time even during liberty to jump (knowing from past experiences with being a fish in the Corps (even though that doesn't really compare) I spent quite a bit of my liberty trying to get stuff squared away that I didn't have time to get done normally and enjoying some mucho mucho bueano sleep time).Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.-General George Patton-
MiataDRM 0 #5 January 8, 2002 Yeah, during OCS u won't have much/any time for yourself! Although, u do get 24 hr liberty on certain wkends. I spent mine sleeping or doing laundry (in '99)...but that was before I started skydiving! Either way, it would cool to jump w/ u or just meet u....just don't bring any of Clay's pet gerbils! I'm still looking for info on different MOS' for you. If u have any other questions about OCS/TBS or the Marine Corps in general, let me know. flyingferret 0 #7 January 8, 2002 First day was good man. I come in about 45 minutes late, use the side door so Lumbergh cant see me. Then I sort space out for a bout an hour. I just stare at the desk, but it looks like I am working....etc, other random office space quotes. Anyway, first day was pretty much orientation, etc. They are just teaching me little by little, plus I don't have the rights to do a whole lot. Of course I can see that....ah..the new guy, yeah he just crashed our trading server. Anyway I think most IT guys are the same. Everyone seems pretty cool and has the IT sense of humor. Anyway, I will try and call you after 2100 tonight, since I am trying to reduce daytime minutes. You might be able to stop by when you go back to school. This week is pretty hectic with orientation and stuff, and I am not sure aobut bringing friends in, everything is pretty secure since we are certified for all the financial stuff. I can ask about it if I get a chance. The commute is not too bad. The morning drive is easy, I am clocking in 700, since I get paid overtime and I have to work 700 at least 2 weeks a month anyway. The car makes it nicer, driving 80+ listening to techno will make you up :) The drive home however is a bitch, I am still trying to find the best time to leave the building. Thanks for the congrats.Malachi
