BikerBabe 0 #2 January 2, 2002 LOL...I don't know the details, but I'd be willing to bet most of the trophies were split between the Wings of Blue (Air Force Academy) and West Point!
AggieDave 6 #3 January 2, 2002 Man, it must be nice to have the military pay for your club to jump all the time and give you gear and stuff...Once you're gone, you can't come backWhen you're out of the blueAnd into the black-NeilYoung

AggieDave 6 #5 January 2, 2002 Well, since I'm a Marine Corps contract, I don't see why they shouldn't pay for my stuff and jumps if I go compete for them and otherwise promote the military stuff to college people.Once you're gone, you can't come backWhen you're out of the blueAnd into the black-NeilYoung
PalmettoTiger 1 #6 January 3, 2002 Don't know the results, but I met a bunch of the Aggies and they heaped me with advice on organizing and running a club. Chuck is the only one whose name I remember but I met quite a few more... tell them all thanks for the advice! (And the beer too!)I wanted to put some really inspiring lyrics here but none of them fit.>< !!
BikerBabe 0 #7 January 3, 2002 QuoteMan, it must be nice to have the military pay for your club to jump all the time and give you gear and stuff...it was a great recruiting tool, and I got free jumps and gear out of the deal! That was the only bad thing about graduating...I had to go buy my own stuff!
PhreeZone 20 #8 January 3, 2002 I know our own Vallerina was on the fourth place Freefly team. It was a throw together team too. I heard Britney's name being called for Sport accuracy and I think I saw her land in the first round too. The military teams whomped on everyone again.Just based on the size of the military teams (20+ for army, 10+ for Air Force if I remember right), the fees ($100 + jump tickets) and the general lack of information that was there when I was in line, I decided not to compete this year. They had'nt finalized the schedule it seemed till all the competitors were signed up and since I wanted to do more the just the 6 comp dives and no fun jumps were allowed till the comp was over, I decided to just fun jump and meet new people instead. It seemed to be a military operation in the beginning (Right hand don't know what/who the left is doing), but after the first day it seemed to go much better. The College students had their own Caravan and 300hp C-182 to jump. It was nice that the people not competing that day were allowed to fun jump after all. At the start they announced no fun jumping till it was all over and I think a few withdrew at that point since they wanted to fun jump too.I witnessed more crashes durning the sport accuracy event then I've ever seen before, everyone forgot that you got more points for a stand up then a dead center and were sacrificing thier bodys to hit the disk. There were a few crashes that were more then just funny, a few were dangerous. One Person way over flared, popped up 20 feet and stalled the canopy then crashed when he realeased he was going to over shoot the disk. Luckly he only pounded in from about 5 feet but it was still freaky to watch.4 way was filmed Air to Air and the videoguys all said the teams looked good. A couple of the Aggies had their SCR on the 29th or 30th. The formation never built and from the video angle it was doomed from the exit. The Caravan and C182 ran from 7-5 for 3 days straight. The Casa and FrankenOtter kept the fun jumpers happy and in the air so it was all good.Over all, I'd say everyone learned something from what I saw and every one had a good time in the warm FL weather.I want to touch the sky, I want to fly so high ~ Sonique
