PhreeZone 20 #1 December 17, 2001 Well.... Here I am Sitting at work, kinda busy but still wanting to stay up on the stuff in the fourms that interst me (pretty much all but this one on a regular basis, keeping up here takes a lot of time). I was so thrilled when Sangrio added the new fourms so that we can discuss more specialized forms of the sport. What do I find? One liners and stuff that would be SO much better in the Talkback area then in the other areas. I thought we all agreed to keep the new fourms on track and to keep the noise in here? Well.... if it continues like this, I guess my productivity at work is going to climb since I won't be around much any more.....Enough of my rant for now....PhreeCanopy Nazi #2I want to touch the sky, I want to fly so high ~ Sonique
AggieDave 6 #2 December 17, 2001 I agree with you, sort of. I'm guilty of throwing some one-liner type responses in the other forums, but that's just my personality. Generally speaking, though, there has been some great threads started and continued so far and the new forums have only just begun to start. In another year I can only imagine what kind of really good information will be available to beginners and experienced alike. Although, I think the little one-liner type posts have there place, it keeps the atmosphere light and adds color to the different threads. There is a limit, though and that limit is a bit of a grey area. For instance, a quick little reply to what someone said won't degrade the thread, but getting some of the good-fun *flame-wars* like the entire sheep series, etc going WILL kill those forums. As of now, I would have to applaud the dz.com community, who are some really fun loving people from digressing into flooding the other forums with the general nonsense that goes on here. Also, I'll keep watch over myself to prevent this netizen from being "that guy" in the other forums. mnischalke 0 #3 December 17, 2001 Guilty as charged, sir.In my own defense, it was getting a little tense over there prior to a little one-liner action.mea culpamike

freeflyguy 0 #5 December 18, 2001 hrmph. Ya sorry. Sometimes it is hard to resist a bit of a jab.But there has been some good stuff in there. So if it is light, it can be good. Another thing to keep in mind. Look who you are talking too. Traditionally swoopers and freefliers are usually not on the top of the food change, when it comes to reason. They shoud be, those aren't exactly the safest disciplines. But, that is why you need to consider the crowd.Of course we could all just get Blood alcohol lockout devices installed on our computers. You can only post when your BAC is above, .01. But then the forum might get awfull quiet. Of course that is another good reason to carefully evaluate the info dispensed. freeflyguy 0 #8 December 18, 2001 Quote what the hell kind of crack is that That came from experience and honesty. But I wouldn't want it any other way. A full contact freefly and staring at a pond when you are almost 90 degrees to the horizon at 400 feet is part of the game, and refreshing. :)

Ladies and gentlemen, please refrain from boosting your post numbers in the specialized forums unless you are asking bonafide questions or giving educated and experienced answers. airann 1 #12 December 19, 2001 I just think that there are way too many people out there who think they are all that. Both regarding information and skills. The thing about skills bugs me the worst. Debating over information is one thing. I supose, true or false-izms can be proven in the end, if it really mattered. But more importantly, its the low jump number guy who hasnt been injured, hasnt expeirenced a skill, hasnt jumped a camera, isnt stable, hasnt swooped or etc giving out advice. Beyond irritating.
