ojf1982 0 #3 December 14, 2001 I have doubts about going now. I am only taking 11 credits and 12 is needed to compete. Also no one from my skydiving club at school is going too, so i dont want wander around like an idiot because I dont know anybody. Really sucks for me because I really wanted to go.Skydiving is not a sport, it is a way of life!Omar B-24801
FallingILweenie 0 #4 December 14, 2001 We tried to go last year...asked for funding from the school (cuz every other freakin club gets it) but the communists said we did something that was too dangerous. and we didn't even mention the partying that goes on at dz's after dark!!!blue skiesTomas
indyz 1 #5 December 14, 2001 Quotewe did something that was too dangerousWhat?! We probably have less injuries per participant (zero?) than most of the other sports related clubs.--Brian"The sky is lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep,And miles to go before I pull"
FallingMarc 0 #6 December 14, 2001 QuoteWhat?! We probably have less injuries per participant (zero?) than most of the other sports related clubs.Yes, but statistics do not phase the SORF board... "we can't fund those crazy skydivers... people could make a big deal out of it if something happened! Now, back to business... what kind of cars do we want to buy the basketball team this year?"Marc
FallingILweenie 0 #7 December 14, 2001 Then we asked for a camera to, uh, make a video from the ground about the club....got rejected there too. For Marc and the other falling Illini to go in the future, you will probably have to foot the bill yourselves.blue skiesTomas
AggieDave 6 #8 December 14, 2001 AGGGHH!I had planned on going and competing in 2 way and accruracy, but I don't have the money to make it.Our school is awsome, though (Texas A&M, if you didn't guess/know) and gave the club almost $2k for it this year!If you're going, besure to look up the Aggies, they are a hell of a group and love to drink beer, get naked and do crazy wacky things at the DZ after dark. JumpinJohn 0 #11 December 14, 2001 With my new prestigious position as treasurer i hope to convince those nazis to give us some money... of course that would require marc and i actually getting off our asses and going to those meetings...
FallingMarc 0 #12 December 14, 2001 Quoteof course that would require marc and i actually getting off our asses and going to those meetingsHey hey hey! Don't jump to conclusions here... just because they say they're "mandatory" doesn't mean we have to actually GO does it?
