mountainman 0 #1 November 16, 2001 Hey all....just wondering who has upgraded to the new Windows XP and who likes it. If you think that Microsoft sucks, than join the club. Have to say that they make a good product and everything is compatable with it (almost), however, their prices are INSANE. Here is a good representation of their stuff: Windows RG. Enjoy!! --------------JumpinDuo.com is here!!!
LordAJ702 0 #2 November 16, 2001 I work for Gateway and all we sell right now is windows XP and it is a HUGE improvement over windows ME. If you have an older system (500 MHZ) or slower and less than 128 MB Ram i pry wouldent bother cuz windows xp uses alot of resources. But its a heck of a lot more stable. PS. Any skydivers need a compter give me an e-mail (lord702@aol.com) i'll see what discounts i can hook ya up with ;)
skip 0 #3 November 16, 2001 I just recently upgraded to XP and must admit I like it allot. I have been using 2000 since it has been around and was pretty satisfied, in fact I was really hesitant to upgrade. However I did it and after about 2 days of serious customization I am definitely sold. Now I have a license through my company and know nothing about the crazy registration etc. XP is definitely stable and fast. It carries over most of the cool 2000 features especially when working on large networks. A definite must for any power user is the power toys for XP. There is a virtual desktop feature that rocks. I believe it resembles a common Linux / Xwindows feature. All and all I think it’s a great product. I must stress however that out of the box I would not be satisfied. I had to customize the look and feel toughly. However Xp makes this an easy task.
Watcher 0 #4 November 16, 2001 I think XP was nice, i run it on my laptop its a 266 with 92 megs of ram. But then agian i got it free (other can get it cheap too ), i have every distro microsoft has put out and XP is bar far and away the most stable. Only reason i still run 98se on my main computer is that its more game compatible, and the XP vid and Sound drivers have not been perfected yet. PhreeZone 20 #7 November 16, 2001 Dude... I'd watch posting that you've got that stuff for free.... Microsoft really is'nt into that stuff. Speaking from experience (Licenceing rep for my company to Microsoft) I can say if Microsoft even THINKS what you've got is illegeal their thinking is sue now and deal with the counterlaw suit later. And I think I know how you got the stuf and Microsoft does audit that source from time to time also.....A rainy day at the DZ is better then a Sunny day at work
