Kneel before me, my son....I, being the one true skybytch and bearer of the title Canopy Nazi, heretofore to be followed by the honorific #1, do hereby dub thee, esteemed phreezone, the title Canopy Nazi #2. Go forth now and proclaim the one true religion of big, slow, boring canopies for beginners proudly, and may you always walk back to the packing area.pull and flare, lisa
lazerq3 0 #2 November 16, 2001 COngrats phreezone!!!!. Now for your first duty:I have 55 jumps, the last 30 on a pd 170 loaded 1.0:1. I just bought a crossfire119 andplan to jump it tomorrow. should I have demoed it first? I dont think it will be a problem. I got a real good deal on it!!jasonA-38658
diver123 0 #3 November 16, 2001 Yeah, me too! I've got about 120 jumps, 70 of which have been on a sabre 170 @ 1.3:1 ... Some wuffo was with me while I was browsing icarus' website and said the VX line looked much cooler so I should fly that instead... I just bought a new 89' and am going to try her out this weekend... Any thoughts? Oh don't worry, I'll pull higher so I can really get a feel for her before I bring her in for my 1st swoop (at least 2 grand...) j/j... :) "pull high! It's lower than you think..." lazerq3 0 #4 November 16, 2001 QuoteVX line looked much coolerHey Diver that post isnt funny...Those vx and FX models are way to dangerous ....I know a guy at my DZ that flies and FX model and all the chicks want him for it. Now not only does he have to be carefull not to clash colors between his suit and canopy but now hes got safe sex to contend with. Mess with the VX/FX and your playing with fire (of the female kind)If anyone approaches you and asks if thts a VX just tell them "no its an older round elipticle. The kind the army use to experiment with" that 'll throw em!!jason
ramon 0 #5 November 16, 2001 Don't worry younguns, I've seen that type..wanting to have sex just cuz you fly a dangerous canopy .I have experience in that area and if any girls ever bother you feel free to tell them my FX is double digit sq ft. it's not its 109. but they think your wanker gets bigger propertionaly.blow skiesramon
PhreeZone 20 #6 November 16, 2001 Um... I don't have a speach or anything prepared tonight, but I just want to thank the people that got me here and made me who I am today. First off.... my parents for disowning me when I told them that I bought my rig. Second, my grandparents for telling me that No, they won't pay for a skydiving trip, even if it is over Christmas and they would'nt have to put up with me for a day.....Next Lisa.....the main influence.... without her constant nagging, I would have got something cooler to play with instead of my 150. I must also thank Mountianman for making me research the enitre canopy size for low jump number jumpers..... Wildblue for showing me right way to win an arguement on canopy size. Also Sunshine deserves credit for showing me that stilettos are'nt for every one My DZO for throwing me on a SharpCuter loaded at 0.65:1 for my student training, that canopy was VERY forgiving and everyone should start out like that !!!!! Cobaltdan and Atair for making such a sweet canopy that IMHO people under 100 jumps should load at/or less then my pittiful 1.18:1, but thats another fourm and thread..... Performance Designs for making LARGE canopys for newbies or POP's members In closing I really want to thank the Acadmey for electing me to this estemed position tonight... I'll try my best not to let you down.... my platform will be 1:1 wingloading under 50 jumps!!!!PhreeZone aka EricUSPA C-31712Just need the stupid night jumps for that D.....BTW.... on a Stiletto 97 I'd only load it at 1.75:1 so I've got to downsize quickly to keep up go from the sounds of way too many people around here......A rainy day at the DZ is better then a Sunny day at work

Well....if it makes you feel any better....I waited to amass an entire 100 jumps before I ordered that Xaos21 98.. I figure a 2.1 loading is pretty damn conservative on a canopy that has a max wing loading recommendation of 2.4.. Mike

mountainman 0 #11 November 16, 2001 Eric.....I will hopefully be getting my 169 soon, but will certainly be using the demo, 189 for a bit first. However, I was thinking about putting Laura's 149 in after about 10 more jumps. Whaddya think?? And THEN, I was thinking.............--------------JumpinDuo.com is here!!! Are they included with it when I borrow it? Sure, you can borrow it....but no, the canopy groupies do NOT go with the canopy.....you have to find your own.. I'll only let you borrow it if your wing loading on it will be at least 2.2.. With your high experience, though, I would recommend a 2.5 loading.. diver123 0 #13 November 16, 2001 Allz I gots to say is, "Luigi aint got nothing on my vx..x 29!"... That extra 'x' indicates my 36 cell high performance missle that I put suspension lines on... Don't be alarmed guys, I waited till after my 42nd jump to buy it... Geesh, what did you think, I'm stupid or something? "pull high! It's lower than you think..." Brokeneagle 0 #14 November 17, 2001 ALF? Is that a cousin disease of the Skygod Syndrome, or a derivative of the ever-popular PLF? PhreeZone 20 #15 November 17, 2001 ALF - Annoying Little ****. Most of these people got thier number for pissing so many people off. mountainman 0 #16 November 17, 2001 ALF = Annoying Little F***. I think it came from flamers on rec.skdiving. They are pretty much the annoying ones on there who have nothing better to say (at least the originals are). I think we have some locals who are ALFs that are just "honorary" members. --------------JumpinDuo.com is here!!!
RemiAndKaren 0 #17 November 18, 2001 I feel I have to fule an official protest on Phree getting CN#2....This was a direct result of a post of someone with 60 jumps flying a Vengence at 1.4.... PhreeZone 20 #19 November 18, 2001 Actually... I'll defend my self here.... I origionaly started arguing that a cobalt loaded at any thing over 1.2:1 should'nt be recommened to beginners. Hell, I'm jumping one at 1.13:1 and have been shocked by it sometimes. Although I'm filling out the forms to get a smaller one by spring. That'll put me on a 135 @ 1.26:1 or a 120 @ 1.41:1 at 300+ jumps. Really low compaired to most people here, but I like it.I just do'nt want Lisa to revoke my number because she thinks I'm letting her down. Like I said in my acceptance letter... Less the 50 jumps = 1:1 wingloading MAX And may you always be able to walk back to the hanger.......A rainy day at the DZ is better then a Sunny day at work

skreamer 1 #23 November 19, 2001 You guys are a bunch of pussies! I'm going to skip the slider and just jump a wing-suit loaded at 200:1 - watch me surf a trench in the ground!! /sPS Phreezone I don't know how to tell you this, but Canopy Nazis are ALWAYS chicks - women get off on the whole 'well in MY experience...' and 'I TOLD you so...' thing. Hell I had one dumbass chick tell me that dickhead loads (low hop n pops) weren't safe and she was speaking from her 'many years in the sport'. I then found out the chick only has like 200 jumps - so I felt obliged to tell her that her lack of currency wasn't safe either. So anyway congrats on becoming CN#2 and good luck with the sex-change op!!!
Aneurysm 0 #24 November 19, 2001 Hi guys, I'm getting quite scared reading this lot, maybe I'm missing something here.....In South Africa you must have 200 jumps before you may jump an elyptical. And I'm not sure on wingloading recomendations here but I weigh 65kg and intend on jumping my 150ft zp for another 130 jumps till I'm around 350jumps then I'll consider an elyptical 135ft. But judging by the way you talk about chick following double digit canopies I take it you guys are bullshitting!!!Blue skiesGeraldb007

I weigh 72kg (without gear), I'm loading my Hornet '150 at 1.18:1 and reckon I'll want another 200 jumps on this canopy (90 so far) before I switch to a smaller, elliptical jobbie. But yes, these guys are bullshitting (its what they do best).
