flyinryan 0 #1 November 4, 2001 I did my first night jump last night. Wow, that was so cool! It was so weird but so much fun. It was so cool just to step into nothingness. The blackness of the ground and the total lack of depth perception was unreal. Just tracking on my back and watching the sky was totally diffrent with stars above me. It was just beyond description. flyinryan 0 #4 November 5, 2001 Also, be carefull of shadows. Our instructor told us that some people see their own shadow at five to fifteen feet and think it is another canopies shadow and turn to avoid it and, then guess what...low turn injury. No one got hurt on our jumps. Two people landed off (we never heard them open either) so there was some tense moments until they got back. Everyone else got back to the DZ and had good landings. I had to stumble a little and do a little running at the end of my flair cause I tried to surf, yeah that was probably stupid but it was fun!
Tee 0 #5 November 5, 2001 Night jumps are sooooo much fun! It always helps a bit to have a full moon working in your favor (and not the full moons you usually see around the dz )It is even cool to be a spectator when all you can see is little glowsticks come in for a landing....you can hear the canopies but you can't see them!Tee
