CaptnCrunch 0 #1 August 7, 2014 maybe someone has done somethng like this. I got a Z1 FullFace and have the Square-1 Gopro Mount, while i think this "cased/curved mount" is pretty much "snag resistant" i still somehow would like to add a "cutaway" to the helmet, has anyone done something like this with a Z1, how about a "2 or 3 ring release" in the ChinStrap - something on the market ? Before you go that way, see how comfortable you are when you unbuckle the chinstrap, leave the skirt as tight as you usually have it and have a buddy yank the helmet off your head FAST. gunneroy 0 #3 August 7, 2014 No 'cutaway' that will leave the liner intact will ever be safe enough as it could keep the helmet on your head even if the strap is clean off. My friend designed a system by which the visor screws on both sides have been replaced by cutaway bolts (button cutaway's) connecting to one teflon cable. the go pro is then mounted on the visor directly (ali bracket) and if need be he pull the cable and the whole visor and camera go flying off. the other option is to do a cutaway on the mount like people have done for the G3 where the helmet stays in place but the go pro is only connected by the cutaway bolt and the camera itself gets cutaway. though on a Z1 that would prevent you from lifting the visor all the way up. If you need any more info let me know. RoyQuote
 Absolut 0 #4 August 8, 2014 Maybe this is something. You cut away the camera, not the helmet. Not sure if it works on your helmet too though. https://www.facebook.com/g3goprocutawaymount?fref=ts
 chuckakers 425 #5 August 8, 2014 CaptnCrunch maybe someone has done somethng like this. I've been jumping the Z1 for 16 years and have a Go Pro on it now with an aluminum low profile mount. I'm not overly worried about getting the helmet off in an emergency. Even with the strap snugged tightly I can pull it completely off by simply grabbing it from the back and pulling it forward, hinging it at the chin. Give it a try. Unless your helmet is pretty tight on your head you should be able to remove it using that technique without a problem.Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
